Cubasis LE - FREE with supported hardware (to unlock)

Anyone try/use this version of Cubasis? I'm downloading now, as I have one of the supported hardware audio interfaces (Alesis - Core1). The feature set is of course reduced, but if you have one of the devices on the rather long list;

Might be worth giving it a try. Once I've tried it ( long weekend coming up here in the US) I'll post my limited view of it. Currently I use Auria LE (as I don't need unlimited tracks) and saw the post about Auria Pro for $24.99. Got me thinking about not having midi in Auria (not Pro), so I checked to see if Cubasis was currently competing on price and saw the LE version. Looks like it's been around since November 2015, I never noticed it.

  • Well, that was quick test run and some circular answers. Apparently there is the Alesis Core 1 that I have ( comes with a copy of Cubase LE) and then there is the Alesis Core 1 that works with Cubasis LE. After it didn't work by just connecting it, I did a little reading on the Cubasis LE forum and found my exact problem described, to which a Steinberg employee responded "....Please note that I've been informed by Alesis that their previous Core 1 is not compatible with Cubasis LE. ...". I'll just leave it at that. Glad I didn't buy the Core 1 to record in Cubasis LE. It does however work with every other app I've tried it with.

    Correct, Alesis requested Cubasis LE unlock support for their "Core" device back then, "Core 1" is not supported.
