Awesome
Though i hope it's an update to the existing apps i will buy them again if it's not
Managed to resist them so far. As AU plugin that may change.
After I 'clicked' with PPG WaveGenerator I got the rest of Wolfgangs Apps and don't regret it at all!
With all the AUx's popping up I'll soon need to get myself a more powerfull iPad
I'm trying to use the metric of whether I NEED something since the year started. 'trying' being the operative word, but have done OK compared to previous years. Not felt like I have missed out too much either.
I've got Phonem, and that has a very unique sound. Not so sure about the others, but that one at least does a special thing.
Really getting into vocal treatments at the moment so that might be my way in, then again I think you need the other apps to create your own wavetables for it.. sigh.. gets out credit card.
PPG Phonem has limited wave-form editing capabilities and only a 'linear path' but it can import complex paths from PPG WaveGenerator.
PPG Wave mapper also has a more regular 'sample playback' mode that is missing in PPG WaveGenerator.
WaveMappers 'strenght' lies in the fact that you can have different wave-table for each of the oscillators while WaveGenerator is limited to one wave-table per patch...
If you 'get' the way Wolfgang thinks all of the three apps serve a purpose
Yep this is spot on. The 3 apps complement each other. When they go AU, they could be used in conjunction to create some really complex sounds - dial back the fx on individual instances and make some patches that compliment each other, then add fx in a new AUM channel.
Yeah I haven't got the other ones, so might have to splash out on those at some point. Still capable of good stuff on it's own though.
This is great news. Hopefully Korg, Beepstreet and Virsyn follow the AU-X route.
Same, I'll jump in when they hit AU
Poison is coming too...
Phonem is probably the most tempting at the moment.
I think you'd like it. I've got a mountain of 'real world' stuff going on at the moment so haven't been able to dedicate much time to it, but it's capable of good things. I even got it to say 'donkey'.
Am enjoying making most noises Blue Peter style in the 'Vox for the last six months or so. Has to be something mighty fierce to attract my attention away and I haven't fully explored VoxSyn yet.
Ability to say 'donkey' might just sway me though..
I still haven't fully explored VoxSyn either. This is a different kettle of things though, as it generates the speech rather than adding an effect. Capable of some very big, heavenly, horrible, weird noises, and with a file system that'll have you stamping on your iPad. Get it, quick.
As great as that sounds I remember wrestling with Waldorf Attack to get even the vaguest hint of an expletive out of it and it all sounding a bit pants.
My girlfriend almost met the same fate when we came across a 'Cool Runnings' scarecrow on the way home from the pub a couple of months ago.
