Multiple I/O audio interface
Hi
What is the iPad compatible (obviously) audio interface that has the most ins and outs?
I wish they had an iconnect audio 8!

There's a helpful list on the Auria site, looks like 24 is the top

you may use any class compatible interface that provides Adat IO
I'm getting along really well with an Audient ID22, all inputs/outputs show up under IOS.
The usual 2 Mic/Line combo plus Instrument on a dedicated plug that mutes Mic2 when inserted, plus 8 digital channels for in/out. (always preferable for better sync options, even if you plan to never send something out)
Studio extra: the mic channels have hardware insert/returns (like a mixer console), which allow to feed an external signal directly to the converters (full bypass of the mic channel).
Excellent monitoring and headphone outs.
Compared to use under Windows or OSX you loose the control panel, but gain the feature that you cannot setup a wrong monitor path
Imh ears it's got the best mic pres available in it's price class, better than iConnectivity, Steinberg/Focusrite, RME...
They are the same that Audient uses in their consoles and their Adat preamps.
The ASP800 provides 6 more of that kind and 2 'special' ones with extra drive and transformer capabilities.

If you're after lots of mic inputs for a band recording that's the perfect companion.
Would of course work with any interface with Adat connectivity.
For line signals from synths and drum machines the ASP800 is a bit overkill, in that case any cheap Adat converter does the job.
CLass Compliant IOS Core Audio allows up to 24x24 , most audio interfaces offering this do so with need for additional ADAT I/O units .
If you already have Non CC ADAT interface , minidsp UsbStreamer gives Ipad 8x8 CC UsB<>Adat for @$100
Buying from scratch , I think the Behringer XAir18 or Rack is amazing value ,
18x8 i/0 ,18 x 18 CC usb interface with full digital mixer functions .
I was looking at that, I didn't realize it could be controlled by the iPad and record into it at the same time! Might be a great option for me! Will investigate further!
