Recording midi in Auria Pro
Hi,
I just got Auria Pro, I have many apps for midi: Korg Module, Sampletank, etc, I'm trying to set up a new project to record audio from Sessionband, Funky Drummer and Midi from Module and Sampletank, I don't see any of these apps listed when I'm setting up the inputs.....should I be using AUM to set this up? If so, what's the best way? Thanks so much.

Even if I don't have Auria Pro I've read enough that the selection of the IAA-Instrument is done somewhere in the insert-secion which to me feels a bit counter-intutive...
Was just about to post a thread about this myself, so I'll just hop on board here.
I can't see any way to rout MIDI out of Auria Pro's MIDI tracks and into destinations of my choosing. I was hoping to send MIDI information from Auria Pro to different apps and have these apps returning audio into Auria. From my initial poking around it doesn't seem possible.
I got as far as this in my experimenting, using Modstep to supply the MIDI content:
I'd like to simply send MIDI from Auria into whatever AB/IAA device I choose, then receive the Audio back in Auria. If it is possible, please let me know how!
Also, let's not make a second Auria vs Cubasis thread. We already have one active one.
Ah hold on.. I was looking for parameters in Auria like what destination and channel to send MIDI out on, but I have just spotted Auria's port showing up inside other apps. Will continue to explore..
If you're using an iConnectivity device, you need to unplug and re-attach it in order to see MIDI ports for other apps.
I found that if you set apps to send their MIDI to 'Auria Pro' as a destination, you can record MIDI easily enough. No control over what channel to listen to though as far as I can tell. I can't find how to make other apps play from Auria Pro's MIDI tracks at all.
Edit: I've been gladly proven wrong!
In the MIDI track in the arrangement window, chose FX. There are three fields: channel, input or output: choose "all" for the channel (or 10 if you want to use DPP), "all" for input and the name of the instrument you want to use as output.
Very important note: for the instrument you want to use to appear in the output list, you must first open it! E.G.: if you want to use Drum Perfect Pro, first open it, then select it as a MIDI output in Auria Pro.
Brilliant! Thanks very much.
Definitely an 'instruction manual' job, learning Auria properly. I've spent this morning chipping away at the basics but simple things like this are constantly eluding me. Now I'm trying to work out how to re-order tracks!
In the arrangement view, touch and hold until the track sort of be detached. Then drag it to where you want.
And then wait for your birthday and ask for Pro-Q 2
Haha. I know with a certainty that it's only a matter of time before I own that and the multiband comp.
