iOS 10 and Auria Pro

Just a heads up to any potential early adopters, Auria Pro has several problems reported with iOS10, so if you rely on Auria for your workflow you might want to hold on upgrading iOS until they've been fixed.

  • Thanks for this info, very much appreciated. I'm on the forums over there and even missed this, so kudos Mr Yot.

  • My pleasure. Personally I tend to always wait before upgrading iOS but I know that many people don't. With the recent 50% off sale there are probably a few new Auria users around and this information might avoid some disappointment.

  • Do we know what in Auria Pro that doesn't work?

  • Thanks. I'm slightly worried about my aging iPad Air (1). This is the first time I'll hold off a while on upgrading, mainly cos I simply have'nt kept myself up to date with iOS lately. That, and a few bad memories from iOS 7.

  • My 1st Gen iPad Mini doesn't qualify for iOS10 so it will stay at iOS9.3.x (or iOS9.4?) while both iPhone 5 and iPad Air 2 will get iOS10 the moment it's out...

IAA instruments are all missing and dialogs are corrupted, for example you can't create a new project. Showstopper bugs it would seem.

  • A new IOS.............. Here we go again......... :s

Well, the 'final' version of iOS10 is yet to be released.
If it's a 'system' related iAA-Issue it should affect all apps (and should be known by now!) but it doesn't so it seems to be an 'Auria Pro Issue'...

  • Cubasis is not affected. It's an Auria issue.

Getting a queazy feeling this is why the aggressive Auria "Summer Sale" right before iOS10 launch? Fingers crossed it's just related to the public beta of iOS10.

  • No need to worry - Auria will be fully iOS10 compatible. I'm working with Apple to get these issues sorted out.

Thanks for the heads up Mister Yot and for the input Mister Rim.

  • I just bought the upgrade to Pro, and I'm likely to spend more money on plugins. It's a very nice product overall. But in my opinion, if AU is to iOS as VST's are to desktop computers, then Auria Pro will be fully iOS10 "compatible" once it supports AU. The list of synths/instruments that support AU may be embarrassingly small, but the list of premium DAW's that don't support AU is pretty short.

  • Oddly, I don't remember seeing this important information in Apple's presentation.

    Thx Rim

  • Already fixed. Will be in the next Auria update, 2.06

Sweet!!! So, there'll be an Auria Pro update before the iOS10 launch on Sept 13th? Will this one include the AU stuff you've been working on?

In my opinion, AU-X in iOS is a nice feature, but still a minor one compared to on desktop. And Auria Pro has access to powerful and reliable plug-ins. There aren't any AU-X apps available on iOS that are must-have for me---of course, to each their own, but none that I can't do without in Auria Pro. Therefore, being fully iOS10 compatible is not a practical selling point for me. With Audiobus and other import options, I don't feel limited---in some cases just a little extra work. But AU-X is apparently coming to AP in the future, and maybe by then I'll have reason to really care about it.

  • No promises on the release date. We still need to go though testing.

If it meets the quality of the work you've already done it will be worth waiting for.

  • Good to know yiure on the case, Rim

  • Love Auria pro. It's why I bought the iPad oro 12.9

Groovy. Would you say to Auria users to hold off updating to iOS 10 on Sept 13th until after the Auria update drops then?
