  • Intrigued but it gets terrible reviews. And I'm suspicious of developers that routinely give away the core app and then make money on the endless IAPs.

  • Give away the razor, charge for the blades. ;)

  • Sound is nothing compared to Bias FX or JamUp or Tonestack. But.......Their acoustic app is really good! Happy I got it. Fer free......

  • Pleasantly surprised with the 'metal' amp and I'm very fussy about such things.
Anyone tried the mic positioning IAP ?

I agree with all of that.
The acoustic app is surprisingly good.

  • looks like the desktop version 'custom shop' which has always been free.
You pay for every two bits later, sometimes even twice as the same effect for input and output exists in 2 versions... >:)
Got their Fender package once for some hardware bonus points - a piece of crap.
The Ampeg Bass thing was quite cool, though
But the app itself was totally annoying showing endless popups of dimmed stuff not yet purchased.

  • erm, it's AmplituBe, not AmplituDe. Just saying'.

Fixed! Thanks! Can you tell I'm a big fan? No wonder that pesky IKM rep hasn't been around. ;)

I grabbed the mic positioning iap a couple of weeks back...like it for medium to high gain stuff, quite useful for positioning guitars to cut through a mix. For lower gain less useful as too subtle to be noticeable in a song

  • @marliess

Cheers for your thoughts, I'm intrigued as to how useful this would be just in itself, as opposed to buying more amps.

  • Must be missing something but I fail to see what about this app is free. Every effect box, amp simulator etc. is an IAP.

You may be looking at AmpliTube Free (which is always free). The version that is free currently is normally $19.99 and you can see what is included at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitubeios/index.php?pp=amplitube-ios-versions

  • I bought the mic positioning IAP and I have to say I think it's really rather good. I find the little positioning view thing to be really useful regarding getting a 'sweet spot' that sounds good.

I know that it's packed with IAP's, but the limitation that comes with the 'full' version (meaning that I'II probably only use the 1 metal amp) is offset with all the tonal possibilities afforded by the mic thing.
