iOS Dub Style │ AUFX Vocal FX and Figure - Live performance

iOS DUB Style! A short live performance in where I am using Allihoopa Figure and all of the Kymatica FX apps for a dubby performance. All apps are loaded into two lanes in Audiobus. My vocals are being processed through AUFX Push, Space and Dub. Figure is running on it's own channel through AUFX Space. Everything is recorded using AudioShare.

  • Insta-like.

    Very good.

    I love those apps.

  • It actually looks like (from when you switch apps) only Figure is going through Space. And your vocals are going through Dub, Peak and Push.

    Is that right?

  • Yeh Rasta!.......... Da ting sounds Irie......... ;)

  • Rewind selectah

  • Yeah man... B)

  • @Matt_Fletcher_2000 You're spot on man.

AUFX:Space is just there to wetten the sound coming from Figure.

On the vocal channel I'm using AUFX:Push to keep the incoming volume in check. AUFX:PeakQ is used to wash away low and high frequencies so I could get a band pass sound. Simulated old school microphone. AUFX:Dub is used for the Dubbiness factor.

Setting up the MIDI was easy as I just connected the iRig Pads to my iPhone 6s via the IKM DIN to lightning cable. Then I just assigned iRig Pads as a MIDI device inside AUFX:Dub settings. I then assigned the knob using the built in MIDI learn function. =D

    @studs1966 @syrupcore @obiwahnkentobi @RajahP More Fyah! Glad y'all liked the performance! =D

  • It's awesome for 2 reasons(at least). 1 it sounds awesome, and 2 I don't see anyone else doing dub on iOS.
Beautiful. Hope you can keep that vibe rolling.

  • Enjoyed this much! As an aside, I heard that mic Jakob is using has been end-of-lifed, so if y'all want to capture the true iOS Dub sound, you'd better pick one up today! ;)

  • 10% battery :o must have gotten an early iPhone 7 ;-)

Great demo. I am a big fan of AUFX

    And......... All on iOS. ;)

  • Nice stuff @studs1966. I've done a couple of iOS dub things myself but it does seem fairly rare. Are you a part of some larger iOS dub community we need to know about?

Thanks. Lol. No @syrupcore, I'm an old fashioned South Londoner, who loves Jamaican music, & still listen to Epic Jamcian Sound Engineers, of yesterday....... For example, King Tubby/The Scientist/Lee "Scratch" Perry/Prince Jammy/Joe Gibbs/Mad Professor. :)

I would like to listen to some of your Dub mixes if possible?

  • @studs1966 Feels a little spammy since I've posted these before elsewhere on the forum but since you asked... ;)

These are old enough to be before the luxury of AUFX:Dub.

Hey!...... I like it :) ..... It's reminds me of experimental Dub, with a little bit of UB40 Dub(there old stuff) thrown in. When was listening to them, I was having ideas for remixing them further(I do this to most music I hear). Thank you for sharing that. Very much appreciated. Making Dub music is not that easy. The FX have to be applied in the right way, otherwise it's sounds an Echoy muddle...... Bravo!......... ;)
