Can you use Sampletank to create a complete song?
Dear all,
Could you pls advise?
I have tried to 'play around' with Sampletank in my iPad, but was stuck with this question: Can you use this app to make a complete song, minus vocal? Or to put it another way, can you create a whole backing track for your song and record your vocal later?
How can you do this, rather than just creating some short riffs or a few bars or music?
Thank you

Sure. You just need a DAW to put it all together.
righty right: some tool to arrange tracks based on a timeline...
How you do that is a rather personal decision: some prefer Cubasis, some Garageband, Auria, Multitrack... all under IOS.
Others prefer to transfer the parts to a desktop system (Mac/PC/Linux).
There's no right or wrong - it's about convenience and the result demanded.
sidenote: I'd never use any single system for sound sources - they tend to have a specific soundprint that makes the result acoustically 'boring' (imh ears).
Definatlely....... Now if @ikmultimedia converted SampleTank as an AU Unit......... Well what can I say........... The word Awesome would not be good enough.
Or alternative to the guys above answers:
You could plug your iPad into an old 4 track and do it with tape!
Joking apart. I'm with @Telefunky with the using too much of one source of sound. Even too much Gadget. There is definitely a signature to the sound made by most apps.
Actually you could do everything in the box without daws, sequencer and all the rest
Everything is possible if you take time to learn your tools.
You could do it all in the app, but there are no editing or arranging functions, so I would not recommend it. But driving it with Cubasis or Auria Pro would be the way to go.
Hi,
Here is my video - Sampletank + Amplitube.
I use Different Drummer to drive it most often.
Wow. Well played and the video overlays of icons for the tools you used look so professional. Nice work!! I didn't know that the recorder in Amplitube could be used to record stuff from other apps like SampleTank.
Thank you.
I used Amplitube Daw only for mixing and guit track.
Previously I made the instrument audio tracks using Sampletank, MtS (midi) and sometimes Audioshare (for convert stereo to mono or one stereo track separation into two mono tracks).
Perhaps it can also be done through AudioBus and Mimix directly to Amplitube, but I found it more difficult.
Gotcha, that makes more sense now. Well it sounded great however you made it.
Thank you so much for all your advice.
