Lightning to headphone
I was just wondering, if i get one of those headphone adaptors for the lightning port, would that mean i can get 2 line outs from my ipad ?
Comments
I could be wrong, but I doubt it. It may only be compatible with devices that lack the headphone jack. Or, it would be compatible, but the OS/software may not recognize it as two separate outs. Interesting point, though.
Good question Hansson. Or more.....
I think iOS will 'disable' the other headphone jack when attaching the lightning->3.5mm thing.
iOS is currently not very good or can't handle multiple audio-devices at the same time.
So for example when using the iRIg Mic HD the built-in Microphone is disabled.
Same when using external DAC the speaker/headphone-jack is automatically 'toggled' meaning both internal and external can't be used at the same time.
That's odd. With the smaller NI interfaces and say Traktor on the iPad, you can use the main soundcard for your main outs and still cue from the built in headphone out.
Don't forget, anyone with a Zoom recorder such as a H2n or H1 already has a direct headphone connection if they want to hook it up.
