MusicIO on Windows10 64

Hi,
I noticed that after Windows 10 Anniversary Update (on summer) ,music IO works fine.
Since the team decided not to support windows anymore I need your feedback and re-check the compatibility.
Maybe if it works flawlessly they could add support for connecting multiple iOS devices to PC.

  • Hi -- music IO works with many modern Windows DAWs, and I've had no trouble with Windows 7 and later. We dropped "official" support, because there are just too many older DAWs to track in a reasonable fashion. An email would come in, asking about some obscure 5-year-old DAW -- and there was just no way that we could even get the DAW to install and test.

In terms of support requests, we were getting roughly 10 times more for Windows than OS X. And with actual sales, it looked like things were the other way around -- far more OS X users. Very hard to justify the development and support time.

The available Windows VST should work in most cases. It's free from our site; if it installs into the DAW, it should connect and operate as expected. But the troubleshooting part -- just too big of a can of worms. I might add support for multiple devices in the future, but it's definitely on the maybe-if-I-have-a-week-with-nothing-happening list.

  • Thanks for the feedback and totally understand dropping the official support since I run myself into strange issue
After switching to win10 the plugin could not be recognized (not even on the vst list) on modern DAWs. Then I also read the announcement about dropping the official support and assumed it was "officially dead". After the Windows "big" update ,I saw it on the list of and is working fine.
It's just MusicIO gives me way much lower latency from the "other" competitive app and would love to see

  • Well I fired up the two audio-in apps today in FL Studio, seeing as how Windows has updated itself several times since my last attempt. Studiomux (technically the Audiomux VST) crashed FL within a minute or two, same ol' same ol', but MusicIO worked great so far, recorded two a-few-minute takes in fluxpad with no problems at all.

    Which means never................LOL

  • Windows are a bit unpredictable. Suddenly MusicIO worked , Studiomux now has way subnormal CPU usage...(and high latency).
    Maybe Linux support ? :p

  • Spent half a day today playing with music I/O actually on a windows 10 latest update and latest Music I/O server software using a ipad 3 latest possible iOS for that model. Using Bitwig which is my main DAW finally got my head around midi I/O using a CME X key plugged into my computer to play my ipad synths. The Music I/O vsti window still states now and again the keyboard isnt available. So had to reload the vst and controller script in Bitwig to get it to show. In a nutshell ive managed to use the app to its full capability in windows. On the otherside of the coin i found Studiomux has stopped working ios app wise on my ipad. It wont open properly and seems to background it self. So given up on that for now. I hope Music I/O will contunue to work in the future. My by word is if it ant broke dont try to fix it! Lay off updating !
