Need a clean fx app (pitch shift) that will make bass guitar 1 octave higher
I have jam up with all the fx pedals unlocked, but the fx sounds don't have what I'm looking for. I just need a simple app that could make the bass 1 octave higher.

For recordings or for live playing? For the latter I don't know if there is any option, but for the former, you can record the part and then use Auria Pro's pitch shifter.
Sorry, I should've mentioned that. It's for live playing
There's an Octave pedal in JamUp Pro, I got it through one of the bundles - wouldn't that do it? There is also a Pitch Shifter which can go up/down octaves, but I haven't bought that one.

Bass Oct and Poly Oct pedals in Tonestack will do it.
EDIT: I think these are both IAP though.
Yea, I tried those. They sound nice! But not exactly what I need for this particular project... They sound to "effected" if that makes any sense. I dunno, I might be doing something wrong in the app. I'm just now learning it. Back when I used to record on a "tascam 788 portastudio" it had this effect built in. It would pitch shift 1 octave higher or lower...but REALLY clean, with hardly any latency at all. It'd be nice if there was an app that could do this
Yes, you're right - I tried the Octaver in JamUp, with Dry & Sub- set to zero and just varying Hi-octave - it worked better at the front of the effects chain but didn't sound great, quite glitchy. I also tried the Octaver in Bias FX, a little better but otherwise not what you're after. I had a go with the Pitch Shifter in Bias FX, it sounds even worse for what you need and quite a bit of latency! Finally, I tried the Poly Octaver which has a fair few settings but with just +1 Octave set it sounded ok, the best of the bunch, but the latency was again quite bad (I tried all the menu settings to reduce latency, not much difference; CPU usage was only around 35% on iPad Air 2). If you don't have Bias FX & the Poly Octaver already, I don't think it's worth you buying just for that.
I have other guitar sims I can try but will have to be later...!
Thanks for the help! I tried the zmh-1. I like the app a lot actually (only issue was that it only worked with the mic input and not the guitar input on my istudio202 docking station). The problem is my expectations were set to high. I guess all real time pitch shifters make the "octave high" note sound a bit flat. So I checked the octave high note wet signal with my tuner apps and they were pitch perfect. I was expecting for it to sound the same as when I play two octaves on the bass or guitar. So the problem was me. Sorry bout that. Thanks again
Thanks for testing them out and giving me your feedback. I have an iPad Air 2 also. Eventually I plan on upgrading to bias fx when I'm ready. I got the bt-4 pedal.. Can't wait to rock it with that app!
i would suggest using zmh as a filter in AUM, most likely AUM will see your guitar input
It worked!! Thanks!
Works great in AUM, great app that doesn't take up much cpu
Hadn't heard of zmh previously. Pretty fun bit of kit.
You could always string your bass with piccolo bass strings, that most definitely makes it an octave higher. I'm assuming just playing it an octave up is not the answer?
Hey I never knew that, ive got so many dang bass guitars...I could have 1 bass strung with the strings you mentioned and switch up the guitars when needed. Good idea! I'll look into getting those strings
I highly recommend bassstringsonline.com, he has any string you can think of.
Cool, I'll definitely check them out. Thanks
