New MIDI Controller: Livid Minim

What are your thoughts? Hear anything on it?
I am in the market for new "stuff", deciding between hardware, MIDI stuff, yada yada.

Interesting. I'd get this instead: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/nanoKEYStu
You get 8 pads, plus a keyboard and the ability to set the keys to Scales and Chords and run an Arp off of it...and oh yeah...dials...lotsa dials to do some knob twiddling
I second @echoopera , I recently got the NanoKEY Studio and I love it, in fact I'm doing my first performance with it tonight. Assuming it doesn't explode on stage or anything I am now very tempted to get the companion NanoKONTROL Studio with my next pay cheque. The NanoKEY has a native mode for control of Korg Gadget (which is how I'm using it at the mo end) but with an editing interface (non iOS unfortunately) it can be tailored to whatever set up you'd prefer... And suddenly I feel a Korg rep!
Looks pretty expensive for what it seems to do.
There's a free companion app in the App Store.
Looked into the Livid line pretty heavy this summer. The minim had me excited, but my understanding then was the associated app was under-developed. I also Feel they have released many controllers that are robust for midi control, but also seem to have off-putting limitations. Also Felt they tend to EOL products quickly. That being said, I'm curious to know how well the BLe works, thought it might be terrific for modulating A.c. Sabre, midiLfo's etc.
You like the nanoKEY Studio? I think the feature list is pretty decent for $150 (bluetooth, mix of pads, CC knobs, and touchpad with software features). And nothing's better than the nanoKEY series for slipping it into a laptop bag (even without a case) and forgetting about it.
But in a $150 controller, I think I'd want a little better than those little button keys. I think the $59 keyboard version of this is great as a "sketch" tool - I probably use it more than any other controller because of size/convenience. For this level of product though, I felt like it could be better.
Well, the Livid he linked to is $129...so the $150 for the Korg seems like a steal when compared price wise
It's the only one with phone-like dimensions, so if portability is that important to you then it may be the way to go. Knobs are great, but they stick out and can break. I wish there were a phone-sized Quneo sometimes— this would be it if it had the XY modulation capability, I guess.
The mapping editor on iOS is important. Do you have to run everything through their app, or is it set it and forget it? You need to be able to save presets for your different apps so that you can switch easily.
I also looked at the Numark Orbit - similar: https://www.numark.com/product/orbit
Looks pretty overpriced compared to other products in the similar price range
Well, if size is important, you've always got LEMUR and MIDI Designer on iOS You can make them into whatever you want them to be
You know what they say, "The best Midi controller you have is the one you have on your iPhone..."
It is a bit redundant, but if you're trying to use expression velocity sensitive pads are key. The Bluetooth is nice, too, if it allows you to keep the phone in your pocket.
I was just being silly...have you seen these bad boys?https://store.djtechtools.com/products/midi-fighter-3d
Livid is the sort of company that might make an app that would turn that from 'nice' to 'amazing'. I don't own any of the new line nanokey stuff but the quality comparison between the 2nd gen nanokey series and your average livid controller is like comparing a Behringer to a Drawmer. I quite like the two korg nanos I own but I suspect that livid thingy will outlast them by a decade.
Shame that Numark Orbit doesn't have velocity sensitive pads. Would be a steal at current prices even if it looks absurd and Numark is owned by Jack "Bastard" O'Donnell.
