iconnect audio between ios devices vs audibus/interapp audio
edited thread trying to hone in on my questions/musings:
So from my reading iconnectmidi syncs different devices, so i can hook up my iphone with say moog15 and my ipad with cubasis with no lag. And maybe feed those 2 into ableton live on my computer, while being able to use my old 88 hammer action keyboard with no usb out as controller. I have audio input on my allen heath zed which works well.
Other two options i'm considering are the presonus itwo and the zoom u24. Most important "need" for me at the moment is traditional midi in. Korg has a lottle box but seems overpriced compared to the zoom.
Anyways, is the iconnect sync way better than interapp audio or audiobus, or pretty much the same? I have traditionally used mostly audio so i am fine with one external synth at a time into cubasis and commiting the audio.
What are you guys using?

There are a lot of variables in the setup you are proposing (iDevice version, computer speed, which apps and what version, etc.) which is probably why you've not gotten many replies. I can only offer testimonials for the stuff I have.
I have an iConnectMIDI2+ and it has worked well for me. I do find the price of their power adapter and cables irksome. Some have had problems, particularly with cables.
Again, results may vary and different use cases. Using your example of Moog 15, it seems to work well with Audiobus and not-so-much with IAA. This could change with the next update.
Apogee Duet. Pro grade, can charge your iPad, but quite expensive.
P.S..: but the MIDI connection of the Apogee is USB, not 5-pin.
thanks, yeah, the reason my question is vague is because i'm still open to different methods, not set, so i am trying to soak up as much user experience. i am coming from working with a bunch of synths and drum machines, daisy chained and/or using midi thru boxes to mainly gadget and cubasis and have started selling off most of my hardware that i can barely play due to time. i love picking up a song i am working on while i wait for my kids to finish their swim class. i have an ipad pro. for audio i will probably stick with logic and/or ableton so i'm trying to find the best option for app integration. using neosoulkeys in cubasis as interaudio works perfectly, until i erase a first pass and then try a second pass, no audio, have to close neo, change the app to another, and go back and reopen it. might be user error. audiobus also seems to have quirks, not always, but..
yeah, have an apogee of some sort on a short list, but can make due with my zed, which is 24 bit, 2 channel, nice preamps and eq, etc
You may still get some good feedback here, but if you don't I suggest breaking your puzzle down into easily digestible pieces like you have in your second post and starting a thread for that piece. Maybe consider changing the thread title to something less vague as well.
You may already know this but the search function on this forum isn't the most user-friendly. You will likely get better results from a search engine by including "audiobus" in your search.
good call...
I use an iConnectAudio4 to go back and forth between iOS devices. Works a treat. Double check this with iConnectivity but I don't think you can use any of their boxes (including the MIDI2+ or 4+) as an interdevice audio transport along with your AH board's audio. I know there's a way to disable the "audio pass thru" on the midi only versions but I think that also stops the main function you're looking for. The iCA4+ does everything you're after I believe (including a 5pin MIDI port).
