  • Perfect. Now I'm getting excited.

    Also way cool: switch projects from a MIDI/Bluetooth command, either a particular project or the next one in the same folder. So, set lists!

    There are times when grown men feel the giddy rush of excitement that children feel at Christmas. This is one of those times.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you for listening.

  • @Michael how will tempo work with the set list? Will there be a setting for retaining Link tempo or loading the saved session tempo?

  • My plan was for it to always use the saved tempo. Can you imagine a use for the other? It'd be easy to make it an option, I just didn't think it'd be that useful.

    Saved tempo makes sense to me!

    Hey guys - I'm going full-tilt getting Loopy Masterpiece (soon to be known as Loopy 3, btw) ready for market over the next couple of months. One of the big new features is the control system, which is waaay sophisticated - and yep, you'll be able to emulate the RC3 pretty easily (for example, Loopy 3 adds double-tap MIDI actions, as well as multi-action bindings and action sequencing).

    You've reminded me: I would really like to bundle some control presets for commonly-used hardware which emulates popular loopstations, but I think this is probably a job for someone more familiar with them than I am. I intend to open L3 up to beta shortly, and would really appreciate some help assembling these, if anyone's interested. You can now import and export control profiles and switch between them (either via the UI or via a MIDI trigger), so it'd be a matter of putting together a profile and emailing it over.

    If you're not already on the mailing list, do sign up - I'll be doing a call for beta testers in not-very-long-at-all.

    Yours in fatigue and excitement,
    Michael =D

    Can't wait!

    I'm so ready for Loopy 3!
    I like the idea of having presets that would resemble all the popular loopers out there.
    Would be great to have a virtual JamMan Delay (the big one with 8 switches and synched delay), RC300, RC50, Electro Harmonix Looper, Boomerang etc...
    But most of all I want it now! Cash waiting :sunglasses:

    I wonder what the minimum specs will be for Loopy 3. It occurs to me that we often say "XYZ app is amazing! And for only $20!" Or $10 or $5 or whatever. That always ignores the cost of the iOS device. But here's the thing. If a MIDI pedal like the FCB (~$100), an Audio/MIDI interface (plenty for <$100) and a modernish iPod touch or used iPad (plenty for < $200) is all you need to get the same functionality as a Boomerang, RC300, RC50, Superlative or whatever then the entire package becomes cost competitive. Plus you can load effects, use synths, do multi-track recording and watch porn on the thing. For less than the cost of a 2880? With multi-project save and LINK and more tracks and more foot control and.... Disruptive indeed. Go Michael go!
