Fluxpad problem [SOLVED]

Just updated and now there is an audio problem that starts a few minutes of playing...fluxpad.
Sound becomes distorted lots of cracks that I didn't have before...have to stop swipe up and reload.
Did anyone give it a try?
No crashes though.
Air2

  • Does it go away? Or is this a persistent problem?
    What is the midi update?

  • Is this a new update or the recent one?

  • Persistent. Becomes unusable. Stop, swipe, reload...few minutes later glitchy...
    Didn't try the MIDI.

  • I'm not experiencing the issues you describe with the latest update, iPad Air 2, iOS 10. Maybe try restarting ipad?

  • Klinik, this app for some reason is just killing you! Didn't you have all kinds of problems on its debut?
Who is the dev? Ping him/her here?

I never had any unusual problems besides those that were reported...actually I think before it ran better.
I'm going to reboot and see...

If you're using iOS 10, I can try to replicate your problem if you message me full details. I have the latest and am testing a new version too. Just to let you know, I am not anything to do with the dev company.

  • Yes, iOS 10.
Start a new project, load your samples and play away.
Few minutes later, transport stars to glitch, sound gets distorted unlistenable...
    Thank @Fruitbat1919 .
    Give it a try....

Was this apparent before the latest update? I'm still on the one before and will hold off if that's not the case.

Is there any timing norm? I.e. Does it happen after a certain time. Any things you are doing at the time when it glitches or are you just playing a loop? I.e. Are you switching loops or anything else?

Also, are you using Flux as an IAA, or just the app on its own?

Standalone and just playing it, like you suppose to.
    Happens few minutes later...
I would delete and reinstall if I didn't have a lot of imported samples

  • Maybe one of the samples is corrupted?
I don't have that behavior at all.

But I'd also like to know your workflow for importing samples, corrupt or not!

I use Audioshare only, some samples are 24bit @ 44.1, but that doesn't seem to matter..(.but most are 16bit.)
I open a new project, import samples and save kit.
There are 8 drum samples and 7 other samples. I prelisten the samples anyway and I don't think they are corrupted...
    Thanks for help

  • app version? iOS version? device?

I will have to make some 24bit samples to try. Having no problems with my 16bit.

I've tried finding this out twice, can't get an answer. Guess holding off in the latest update might be a wise move until we find out.

I already posted it few times above.

Is it the latest version of the app? There's been a couple this week.

No glitches for me with an advanced setup. But I had to deactivate the midi clock cos of "crazy tempo to 999".
Much more stable and usable, start/stop thru IAA works fine till now :)

    Version 1.0.5 here. (from yesterday)

Can't say I've been quite the bang for the buck out of this one as others seem to, BUT started using it just as a baseline generator and suddenly everything's gone click (in a good way).

  • Solved (I think)....

Completely deleted and reinstalled Fluxpad. Seems to be fine now.

People asked what iOS and version etc..
I thought it is obvious that I am using the latest iOS and latest update, (and I put all details), if not I would say so.
I don't want to create confusion being on an old iOS version and first app release because it is already complicated enough to solve and find problems.

But anyway, thank you all for helping :)

    Cheers

  • love the format! hate the cheap sound. would be great to import sample libraries from a wider genre selection. export midi would be neat

  • I remember I had some serious bugs in a beta version. The updates weren't fixing it, but after a delete and reinstall it was fixed.

My hunch is that FluxPad doesn't like longer imported samples. Or, at least it didn't at the time.

I thought the same thing...it doesn't mind a loop that you slice and use short bits, but long pads don't seem to do well...
I could be wrong, could be the update did something or some samples got corrupted
