  • Wish there was a demo. The feature set looks pretty impressive

Is this "The One"? It does look impressive for sure.

  • It looks very nice but only 2 tracks + rhythm seems very limited. I think it should have more tracks than that. Still very slick interface.

  • A demo will be coming soon. (I'm currently a one man band :) ), and am hoping that reviews will be popping up soon.

In the meanwhile I'm open for questions on this forum or by email.

As far as the track count, the design goal was to stick to a 2 track looper similar to the hardware loopers out there, and keep a coherent design. (But of course I am open to anything discussion for future versions...)

  • That's a very nice looking app!

  • Some pretty good stuff is done with two track loopers in the hardware world. Plus this has a killer rhythm track so three tracks really. It makes me want to touch it.

  • I like the look of this, and if AUv3 extension support was added you could have potentially more tracks if you needed.

I purchased app, but dont see a option for Link. What am I missing?

  • Great. Thanks for the purchase. Ableton Link is enabled in the tempo menu.

  • Thank you.

The way things have been lately I want to buy it just based on the acronyms in your discussion title.

  • I'm surprised that a developer hasn't thought of this before given the number of people who have a background with hardware loopers. I'm a long time Loopy user and have added Group the Loop to that mix as well. With huge updates coming to both it's hard to justify adding another looper.
Having said that, I'm sure I'll buy it. Love the UI. It just looks so familiar.
@MGMG4871: You've been around here a long time. What's your take on it so far?

  • I left the world of hardware loopers for the extra options I can get from apps like Loopy. Why would I want to emulate the hardware on an iPad when I can just go back to the hardware? Not trying to be snarky at all... Just wondering how I can justify another looper app.

There are so many looper apps, and to get interest any new offering needs to stand out. This one looks like it means business. But I must admit that I'd expect more tracks, at least half a dozen. Will look forward to the demo, as I may be missing the point. ;)

So you could load this in Modstep and do audio loops? (I guess you can do that with the built in modstep sampler. I'm gonna have to go look at GoneKrazy's tutorial. Seems easy enough to get the sample onto the pads, but harder to play when you wanted to play. But it seems that it wouldn't be that hard to get a loop going.)

  • Liking the audiobus options, very promising. says 'extensive midi control' would like to see a list

Ben, I haven't had time to delve into it yet, but loading soft drummer as a iAA rhythm, with Link enabled, works. Nice interface also. I'll be testing with pedals later today. Hoping Doug does a video first though, before I fry my brains.

I have a feeling this is above all for people who can't get their head around anything other than hardware loopers or have a sentimental attachment to them. I can totally understand appeal of such emulations but would struggle to go back to their restrictions including inefficient use of the screen real estate. Sorry developer just my opinion.

    Edit: kudos for the looks

  • Never got into the endless-possibilities-über-loopers so this one definately looks interesting!

    Hi,

I have been doing all kinds of vocal, guitar, found sound looping for many years using software and hardware, and recently purchased a little TC Electronics Ditto which I love for its simplicity, but feel limited by for a couple of reasons: Obviously having only one stereo track to output is one thing; the other is that there is no option to have recorded loops naturally decay/degrade over time. Is that possible with this app? I ask because that was one of the real hidden beauties of my old Lexicon MPX 100. It only had around two seconds of Looping time, and there was simply no way to sync it to a metronome yet because the sound faded away over time, repeats got darker and it had a lovely organic quality that forced a player to engage with what was there and bring much more of a genuine improvisatory feel to everything recorded in real time. Thank you!

  • It says adjustable fade out in the description, so I guess that should be a yes.

  • Would it be possible to control it with Behringer FCB1010. I am thinking in all these long tapping / double tap etc..

Any possibility of an iPhone or Universal version? I do like the auto-record and auto end after a set time. I find it hard to find that combination in sampler/loopers. The only one that I have found that works really well is my Korg microSAMPLER.

Heh.. Another nice written topic ;-) like always. I woud add few more dots and remove more spaces

  • I started with a Boss then went to the Digitech for the ability to store on flash cards. So I'm sure there is some of that old familiar feeling thing going on. Now, probably 95% of my workflow goes through the iPad. But auto record, that's a big deal.
Would like to know if it functions like the hardware version.
    Thanks for the response @mgmg4871.

  • There is this as well which has gotten me interested.

  • Thanks for your interest and questions.

I'll try to respond to some of the questions asked, although I prefer to leave real feedback to the reviewers as I am obviously biased :).

Decay: Indeed adjustable fade out is in there as well as overdub decay.
FCB1010: We tested many foot pedals, unfortunately not the behringer, however it should be supported. The behringer seems to support Momentary Control Change assignments which will allow full control of Quantiiloop.
Auto-record: Works very similar to a Boss for instance. You set the the record trigger level and recording will start as soon as a signal above the level is received.
iPhone/Universal: Future will tell, for now the focus is making sure that this is the best it can be, and that means by supporting what's there. Screen real estate maybe an issue here, but we'll see.
Hardware vs Software: One of the design goals was indeed providing simplicity and familiarity of a hardware looper, but not the limitations. IOS, Audiobus, Ableton Link, Interapp-Audio have given us the platform to create things that go far beyond hardware.

Again thanks again for your interest in Quantiloop.

  • This looks good to this longtime hardware looper ( a series of DOD DFX94s, then a couple of Headrushes, now Ditto X2)

quantiloop can't see my midi interface.. zoom U-24
Edit: I'm guessing it doesn't recognise midi note on/off
