FUNBOX: Not So Fun ?

I am on latest Windows version and seems like Funbox has quit working.

It shuts down as soon as I enter USB and it goes recognize it.

Has anyone else had this issues lately?

I worked a week ago fine.

Are there any alternatives you have used to Funbox?

I have tried both IOS 9 and 10 devices. That doesn't seem to be the issue.

PM is you don't feel like posting, I am in SRS need to resolve this asap.

Gracias.

  • Usually stops working when iTunes needs upgrading.

  • I can't get it to do a damn thing.

  • I use the free copytrans for Windows. highly recommended. Small and easy alternative. Used to use ifunbox but now don't miss it a bit.

    Thanks for the tip. http://www.copytrans.net

  • iMazing isn't free, but it's cheap, and can do things no other software can do like backup and restore individual apps including all the settings. Useful for transferring things like Loopy midi mappings from one device to another, or any settings that aren't stored in the /Documents folder.

    Into the Sandbox?

    Yes

  • I've been using the free version of iMazing and it's working just fine on a Mac. You constantly get pestered to purchase the upgrade but as far as I can tell the free version does everything I need.

    I have PC.

    Thanks though.

    WORKS GREAT

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR RECOMMENDATION

So no one else uses or has tried copytrans manager?
Maybe I will try this iMazing program.
Would like to know which is better.

  • I'll be checking these out. IFunbox has worked well for me in the past, but it's always had that sort of a weird vibe of something you downloaded from a site you probably shouldn't have visited.

  • I just checked, and it looks like iMazing supports windows as well, @RustiK

    :) :) :)

You can do some crazy things with it. Like backup an app, explore the backed up files in the backup explorer, change config files that you couldn't ever access without it, and then restore that modified backup to a device.

I used this technique once because I had an extremely extensive Loopy midi mapping that I didn't want to recreate, but I changed my midi interface, and the device name changed, and Loopy couldn't see my old mappings. I was able to use iMazing to modify the device name in the backup file and restore it, and presto my old mappings worked with my new interface.

  • imazing looks like a good replacement for ifunbox.
One question... I used to use ifunbox to access the Cubasis sandbox and go into the subfolders (projects, audio, midi) to add or delete files from the PC. A lot less tedious than doing via the ipad UI.
Can I do the same with imazing?

I'm reluctant to pay for something like this when Apple could quite easily do something to make the software useless (as is the case with ifunbox).

    Same concern for me.

Yes. Inside the sandbox like with iFunbox, but also you can access outside the sandbox, deeper into the app settings, in your backup files. And the real killer feature is to backup and restore single apps, instead of an entire image of your whole iPad. When I moved from an old iPad to a new one, I realized that a lot of my settings and content from my old device didn't get restored. iMazing to the rescue.

I think you can do a good bit of this with the free version too.
