  • Great article, thanks for posting it.

  • i look at my music apps on this ipad nowadays and just don't feel the feeling anymore. kinda want to put it in a deep sleep and restrict myself to guitar/bass/minibrute, though i would have to develop some technical skill...

  • Why not guitar/bass/minibrute/iPad apps?

  • You don't have to use everything all the time, put it away for a bit if you're not feeling it. It'll still be there when your current experiments are over :)

I bet if you banned yourself from using it, it wouldn't be long before you wanted to.

  • it might have something to do with my 4th gen running slower and slower lately

Being given this piece of advice sooner would have saved me a small fortune in eBay fees! Wise words.

  • Really well done article although I disagree with the author on this point:

Even if you’re not already a DAW wizard, Modstep is a lot more user-friendly than Apple’s GarageBand.

Bingo! Almost can't stand the sight of my 3rd gen. All big and slow like the dinosaur it is :(

  • Nanostudio works great on old ipads.

  • In the blurb on Elastic Drums there's a link to a Mouse on Mars video.
Spot the prerelease version of fluXpad used

My ipad is lagging like hell just writing in WordPalettes, JUST EDITING TEXT, i want to run a counterfeit version of Moog Model 15 on this dying 32-but device and see if it creates a black hole and/or tear in the fabric of time-space.

Yeah, defiantly agree with you there

  • I was surprised that Auria and Cubasis or any other DAW such as Multitrack- or Music Studio didn't get a mention in the 'replacing the laptop' section, especially since he does mention Cubase in its introduction. I know Cubasis is not equivalent to Cubase but it's closer than Modstep I'm thinking...
