Indeed. The iOS versions seem to be so much better than the desktop ones ... which haven't had any serious changes since they came out in 2004!!! Some people even say the iMS20 sounds better than the VST. I don't own the VST so am unable to compare myself though...
This would be awesome !
PS : thanks a lot for the video by the way Samu... Very interesting.
The day they bring my beloved Korg Trinity V3, oh man.... dreaming!
The hardware is even worse than the desktop version, still got my sr still and programming it is like trying to dive into a glass of water, a shot glass. I'm excite that the wavestation version might be like the im1, will be the definitive version programming wise.
I've still got a hardware version as well. Would be incredible if the iOS version could be used as a remote programmer.
Stuff of dreams, encourage me to dust it off, change the battery and get into it properly.
Hmm i swore off retro korg a while ago but maybe this one is closer to my 'golden age'.
This one is more 'in-depth' and should give a better idea of what can be done with wave-sequences.
Now imagine using your own samples for the 'sequences'. I know it can be done with HD-1 engine in the Kronos.
I still do love the sound if the WaveStation Plug-In in the Legacy Collection and when the 'iWhatever' hits the AppStore I'll have some credits waiting.
you're right from the technical viewpoint, but in real life things may run a bit different.
I've heard this before...
features are demanded as importatnt or called 'phantastic', but in the end it's preset galore...
There was a kind of Wavestation follow-up on the Creamware Scope platform (Vectron) around year 2K.
Even designed by John Bowen, who was involved in the original vector synthesis developement at Sequential and later with the respective Korg department (iirc).
That synth could import user samples, custom midi control/sequence each and every parameter/modulator , etc...
But people NEVER got deeper into the engine (though lots of customers were real synth enthusiasts)
You never read: hey, I did this great pad on Vectron... or stuff like that
All the Wavestation programmers ended up looking through the small window in the door of a padded cell - they felt right at home staring at that small window
