Are there any iPad macro editors for circuit and is it possible to do outside of isotonik's editor?
As the title say's. Having recently bought Novation's Circuit and finding out my windows vista laptop won't run the isotonik's editor without a costly upgrade path, I feel like I won't get the best out of this machine.
The included presets, I've found are, but for a handful, rubbish, not really showing the capabilities of the synth engine.
Ive found a Touch Osc editor for the synth, albeit with many parameters missing, but I can only save the patch to that session. I have made a couple of patches that I'm happy with, but I'm stuck with the same macro assignments that came with the original patch which is somewhat limiting.
Does anybody know if this Macro editor/assigner is possible? If so, I may try to make one.
Cheers

If you have Lemur there are a couple of templates for that which will let you edit the circuit synth.
Thanks. I have TB Midistuff and Touch osc, but not Lemur. Do you know if you can assign the Macros with those templates?
TouchOSC works ok, but you don't get access to the synths...it just mimics the Knobs on the device. Lemur is your best bet. There are 2 Control Layouts for the Circuit:

and
https://liine.net/en/community/user-library/view/660/
Thanks. I have a working Touch Osc template for the synths. I may have to check out Lemur.
If it's the one from the Hexlar forum, i don't think it gives you access to switching to the various Synth oscillators on the Circuit...it just mimics what's on the hardware itself. The Lemur templates expose the Oscillators...
I'll try an record a vid for you to show it off in Lemur
Yes, the Touch Osc one I found accesses the Oscillators, but not the mod Matrix or the Lfo section and more importantly the Macro assignments
But it would be cool to see the lemur template in action. Thanks for that
Just note that you can't really save these custom patches...just the pattern.
I posted a TB MIDI Stuff editor ages ago. There was a dedicated Circuit thread for a while, the link was in there. I sold mine so can't check but think this was the latest:

EDIT - Everything is set up visually but I never got round to finishing the assigning of CCs / NRPNs to the macro controls.
I know that the one that I did
https://liine.net/en/community/user-library/view/664/
exposes everything for both synths, all controls, mod matrix and macro assignments. But as mentioned already, these can only be saved in the session, you still need to use the isotonic editor to save them as presets.
This is because there is a limit of 256 bytes for a sysex message in Lemur, and the circuit needs more than that to dump the presets.
Modstep has templates for Drums/Synth/Session - TouchOSC works via USB now - so if you are on desktop you can use the Editor to create and push out a mapping very quickly.
Thanks Andy, that sounds like what I'm looking for.
Thanks Ocsprey, I'll have a look at the Modstep template too.
Damn dudes. I didn't know these even existed. Nice work (and finds)!
So the only real iOS blockers that remain are 1) saving these tweaks as a preset and 2) sample loading. Is that true?
Even if this is an old thread: There is now a new patch editor for TouchOSC that makes macro editing particularly easy thanks to additional functions. Macros can be copied, deleted, resolved or filled with a parameter with just one click.
The editor also offers access to all 300+ parameters, integration of the Novation LCXL and the Akai Midimix as well as an smart random patch generator. Both the OG Circuit and the Circuit Tracks are supported.
Read more about it here or get the app or the demo here.
