App like MPC that you can 'open in' samples from Audioshare?

Hi- is there a good app- for putting samples on pads- with a sequencer- like an MPC- but where you can import/ open in your samples from Audioshare?
Thanks

Comments

  • not with the ability to automate tempo changes/have diff bpm on each sequence or different time signature on each sequence, I don't think but have you checked the fl mobile app, I don't have that one but it might be worth looking into. Might wanna check ispark too

  • Beat Machine.

  • Wait for the Beat Hawk update......................... but you didn't hear that from me.

    There's Beat-Machine: http://audiob.us/get/233/Beat-Machine

I don't presently have it installed, but I'm think BeatHawk does this. It's due for a big update, too.

+1 beat machine is great too

  • Another recommendation for Beat Machine

  • It's not quite 'open in' but Beatmaker and Nanostudio can be targets for 'open in' from Audioshare.

  • Do any of these allow you to set sample points that map to an external midi controller with pads?

You mean where you'd assign a set of MIDI notes to specific sample start points within a single sample? I dunno. Beatmaker does slice-to-pads and you can control those pads externally. Same thing but with an extra step. iMPC does the same.

Nanostudio will allow you to assign a MIDI CC to sample start but using it for beat chopping would be entirely by ear and since MIDI CC only allows for 127 steps that's the best resolution you can get.

Oh, Nanostudio will also 'auto slice' a sample across across the keys in the Eden synth. Can be anywhere from 2 to 64 slices/keys. At the point each slice is available across those keys which you can control from an external controller but again, depending on the sample, that resolution may not work and there's no way to tweak the slice points in that mode. It's fun for all manner of stuff because you then have all of the Eden synth controls available on top of the slices but if beat slicing is your goal it's not exactly clean.

  • Great- many thanks- I will give Beat Machine a go- it seems to be the favorite and at £1.49- I don't see it as any sort of risk- if it doesn't work out (though I think it will)- I will wait for Beat Hawk (when is it due ?). I am not too keen on FL (I have groove machine mobile)- I also have iSpark- it doesn't fit the bill. I just got Beatmaker- but we don't really get on together at this stage- for some reason it told me the memory was full before a ball was kicked. Nanostudio- I will keep up my sleeve in case if all else fails.
    Cheers

  • @robosardine Hard to say about BeatHawk, could be any day. UVI is the developer and they're a bigger concern.

The developer of Beat-Machine is an AB forum member. I'm sure @dreamless will be glad to have you aboard.

@syrupcore yep, I only need 16 pads; slicing up beats and loops to the pads or keys. Are nanostudio auto slices a fixed length or does it do auto detection like Live?

It's a bit dated and incomplete, but there might be something of interest to you (and others) here.

NS auto slices are fixed divisions (2 to 64). Absolutely no transient detection or the like. Beatmaker 2 does this though.

    as well as impc pro

  • Does BM2 allow external midi triggers to the auto detected start points?

Yes, but it only auto detects Apple Loop slices AFAIK. Otherwise, you will need to use Auto Chop to automatically chop the sample into a customizable number of slices and set your markers.

  • Thanks for the recommendations! I haven't been on the forum in a while - have a lot of work to do. Beat-Machine has 16 pads ready to load up wavs from audio share. They don't use RAM anymore either so the memory warnings are no more. The sequencer is quite limited but I've got a new one on the way... eventually. You know how it is for indie devs... these things take time but eventually get delivered. I'm currently filling my brain with AUv3 code so all my future releases can be AU ready.
