Nice gift for my birthday guys
Does it need the stick on knobs?
Yes, how much are the knobs?
My understanding is that the knobs are not essential. Can anyone confirm either way?
My wife always laughs when I mention knobs
Gotta love a promo video that doesn't reveal anything just like a trailer for a Hollywood movie. No spoilers.
From their page:
This means that while all standard multi-touch capabilities are preserved, you’ll also be able to control any parameter by moving and twisting our tangible pucks over the iPad’s surface.
It's slightly ambiguous, but I read that as the knobs are not required. Thanks.
tangible pucks
As if from a midsummer night's dream.
Exactly.....I can easily imagine The Tangible Pucks being a prog tribute band playing the Cambridge pubs...
That there is a fairly large and comprehensive checklist of claims- I hope they are all true.
I wonder what the price will be? My guess is- £14.99........ not including the knobs
Edit....I have just noticed on the Future Music Website- the price will be 9.99 dollars and euros- so it will be around that mark in pounds as well.
I keep reading the list up there.......... it's a lot for a tenner..... I'm glad it didn't go to auction
I don't know if it was that big a lift based on the scant info they've provided. Many of the images look a whole lot like the existing reactable mobile app (which I like).
@robosardine the whole modular nature of the app is designed to allow for experimentation. By moving the different widgets around, you get different results.
Are these pucks, or puckettes?
This looks cool, but there don't seem to be stellar reviews of their other mobile app with reports of crashing deluxe.
Who's gonna be the first early-adopter with an "instabuy" and report back on this one?
Looks like some very good reviews on their current app too, but it looks awfully similar to this new one. Is this one of those scenarios where users buy-in, buy the "pro" and all the extra IAPs, then the dev releases essentially the same app new, but with new puck compatibility?
Anyone with the current Retractable mobile app testify whether this looks like a whole new animal or not?
I'm certainly intrigued by the UI design, but it looks like a hybrid of TC-11 doesn't it?

I was thinking about it... but I hopefully expect they have made a more detailed video (at the same time as making the one above) all ready to release on launch day....... I'll probably watch this first. If it produces anything solid, sonically rich with a good indication of how to use it and sounds like it could contribute to a category of EDM I can associate with....... I probably will. If it is all just random squiddilly beedilybops- then I will just contribute my tenner to the incoming TB-03.
My high hopes are floating gently back to earth.
This is hilariously stupid. It's like a 90s cyberpunk movie's idea of the Future. The dramatic gesture at 6:43, I could watch that endlessly.

Coming this summer
I don't want to knock somebody's brain child but it smells so much of a gimmick. Bright lights, squares with shapes, guy with shades, sample with a girl swearing. The target audience is possibly late teens? Maybe that's why.
Yep it's ok seeing these vids, but I want to know what it brings to making sound. I still haven't really got a clue what it is
looks aweful, sounds aweful!
it will go a long way!
Yeah, it's very like a Native Instruments demo. Very slick editing and therefore unable to tell what's actually happening
I'm surprised there's no stock footage of a bearded 20 something, making beats on a tube train.
...or on a bench in a park overlooking a busy urban lightscape.
Hehe, you've seen these vids before too then
Is @chris_foster the poster in any way affiliated with reactable by some incomprehensible means?
