Wireless MIDI Controller: LIVID

I was wondering anyone's experience with this or any other wireless MIDI controllers you are aware of?
Losing the wires would be the most liberating thing ever.

I found these vids for it on the site.
This is great for like commutes, on the treadmill, anywhere. So cool.
Are there any other wireless MIDI controllers? (besides additional IOS device)
Cool little box; how would you use it?
I've got the Nanokontrol Studio and I love it. So easy to just turn it on, pair it over BT, and go...
I've been thinking about picking up the keys unit as well.
First, mobile.
I often like to compose on the go, so this is a great way to have a mini "multi" instrument jam set up , even in a car or sitting on a bench with IPhone.
Second, sort of a "Audiobus remote" inspired controller.
I am thinking Gadget it will serve me well especially for Samples and Slicer actions that are more dynamic and not pre programmed MIDI.
I play my synths like guitars in a way. I generally use 2. One is the lead, the other is melody/rhythm.
This controller will be ideal for the secondary synth app. Especially considering my #2 synth is usually chords or ARP or PADS. That is what I would use this controller for. Now, I generally program them in Genome, or try and play them simultaneously with MIDI bridge or one on keyboard other on the screen.
Off the top of my head, something like NAVISCHORD, CHORDPOLY, and related apps come to mind.
I also would use this for BeatHawk. I like BeatHawk for simple MPC style pads. Not detailed work. So, I could have Beat Hawk in the background and use this little dandee for it.
THE KEY FOR THIS CONTROLLER FOR ME IS WIRELESS. WIRES ARE A PAIN.
I am ready to go full in IOS and leave the PC stuff behind for most part and I think this controller represents a great IOS tool. Fitting for travel and usage.
PLUS I see it is a small business in Austin, I would love to support a small business like that.
What about you, whatdo you use it for?
I have a Livid Guitar Wing Wireless midi controller and the interface aspect has always worked flawlessly for me. No connection or latency issues at all. I'm not too content with the general design though (it doesn't really fit well on any of my guitars), that's why I'm trying to sell it. So, if anyone from Germany or close vicinity is interested contact me.
If the electronics inside this little box are the same as in the Guitar Wing, you will probably have a lot of fun with it.
@RustiK I don't have the Minim, but I'm interested in a wireless mobile hardware solution for many of the reasons you mentioned. I asked about what you'd do with the Minim because I'm trying to decide if this smaller form factor is better than something like the larger Korg unit.
My BDay is NOV 1 so I am gettin' one!
Something like this is indispensable with the wireless aspect. Even for controlling lights and such.
Never mind the "IPhone & Livid travel studio"
MIDI up ---- any where, any time!
I give the company the right to use that catch phrase! LOL
Thanks for the info. I didn't even know this product existed till this thread. So this morning after reading ur post I googled the guitar wing. Looked on eBay and got it used $55! It was from a good seller too, so I am sure the product will be fine. I can't wait to use it. Thanks again!
I almost picked this up last summer - would really like to see some reports on how the Bluetooth aspect fares - I was thinking it would be great w/ Moebius/AC Sabre etc. Also curious if it can be used for Program Change etc too.
I will let you know in 2 weeks after my Birthday
Lots of interesting buys on the site.
Got my mechanical engineer juices flowing.
Nice! Wife got me a $50 gift card for mine this past weekend - I picked up Dhalang MG, Mira, MusicIO, and Limiter... woo hoo
As I wrote, it works nicely as a bluetooth interface. Very low latency, connection is reliable, and yes, it has an editor as well (Mac, Win) that can be used to configure the buttons to output note, cc, pc commands, toggle mode, you name it. It can also send accelerator data, although I'm not really into the moves required to make this do much, so I've never used that. The buttons and pads work reliably. Only the buttons at the side feel a bit cheap.
I got my guitar wing in the mail today. I'm pleased with it.. BUT... the Bluetooth latency is there. I "midi learned" it to the BeatMaker 2 pads... and the latency was there. It's still awesome tho! But I couldn't use for drums. I think it would be great for clip launching and controlling fx. The company that developed the Bluetooth technology says they're doing a huge update in 2017... https://www.google.com/amp/readwrite.com/2016/06/18/bluetooth-5-0-set-2017-debut-pt4/amp/?client=safari ... if this update cuts the latency in half, I would be content. For the price I paid for the guitar wing I love it! And with the minim, it looks like livid intends for it to be used as a drum pad. With bt technology atm ... I don't think it's quite there yet.
Cool thanks for the feedback!
