Blocs Wave un-blocks creative blocks │ Get Inspired - haQ attaQ 180
Blocs Wave by Blocs for iOS un-blocks creative blocks! Do you ever get stuck listening to the same stuff over and over again, not really getting anywhere with your track? How does one get out of a creative block like that?
It's a question I've been asked by viewers and I think I've found one possible solution here with Blocs Wave.

I have spent many hours doing exactly this. So much so it is part of my normal workflow now.
I am lucky enough to own a Launchpad MKII and LaunchControl XL so I run the Launchpad App in background loaded with my loops controlling it from the Launch hardware and have it synced to Blocs wave via Link. You can do a whole set using just those things and no app switching needed.
The slicer is brilliant, one thing you should try is using the dice in slicer mode for when your finger movements themselves become repetitive.
Nicely done Mister J.
I'm a sucker for this kind of sound. Still hoping that Blocs Wave will add reggae and roots style dub packs.
Thank you jacoB- you are an inspiration for my music making efforts
Congratulations! No fish were mentioned, plenty of bass though
There are a few dub packs, also some in launchpad that you can record into blocs wave.
Cool, jacoB!
I never worked much with canned loops before Blocs Wave. There are zillions of them available online in every style, many for free.
Nice, inspired me to have a go at making a track this way in Blocs. Hope they'll add key change saving for each scene in later updates, you could create a whole tune in it then without having to fiddle with the key settings as you're playing.
This a thousand times Effendi. As I'm not talented/dexterous enough to play this stuff live, the process of being able to have this scene in C and then ascribe the next as E etc etc would (for me) turn this from a piecemaker into a songwriter. When they added the scene ability I presumed that this was the idea/purpose and was bummed to find otherwise...still a terrific addition to the canon.
Yeah, seems a bit of an oversight, but hopefully an easy thing to include in future updates.
Great video Jakob. This is why I'm happily a subscriber on patreon.
Jakob: You have the best personality. You are just so inspiring and enthusiastic and if I wasn't stateside I'd press you to jam with me. I would bet you're a kick to hang out with. Thanks for the videos.
bit ridiculous asking this, but shouldn't the vertical marker with the arrow be the exact place a loop starts each time I hit stop, then the play button? Without moving the loop brackets, I set the arrow in the middle of various samples, but each time I press play the sample does not start from where the start marker is set like it does in Jakob's video.
Me too! Oops....
