IMPC Pro Problem - Any Gurus Around?
Each IMPC Pro programs has four banks of 16 pads. In addition, there is a function to take a sound and chop that sound into slices and assign them to pads.
I want to create a program that makes use of pads on each bank. I have two sound files. A file containing chords and a separate file containing notes. I want to chop my chords and assign them to bank A and chop my notes and assign them to bank B.
It looks like this can't be done, which makes me wonder, "why even include banks in a program designed around chopping up your sound files and assigning them to pads to play?"
It also appears you can't chop the file into multiple files and assign them to pads manually. I have to be wrong about this, because this is simple, basic functionality of any MPC.
What am I missing? I hope it's that I'm just being thick and not that the program can't do these simple tasks.
Comments
I don't have it installed anymore and I haven't used it in some time, but I hope you can find some help here. The "Trim and Chop" and "Sounds Mode" videos look to be the most relevant to your questions.

each program can only have one slice regiment on it, the banks are only there to allow that many slices for the current program you are slicing like on a real mp, but after you make a program you can go into the sample browser and load slices up into whatever bank and slots you want. just to clarify if you want to use up more than one bank during an initial slicing you have to tell it you want more than 16 slices
your slices will be located under:
program tab> sounds tab> my programs folder on the left... you have to save the programs you make first before they will show up there
Thanks @kobamoto and @telecharge - I've modified my workflow to accommodate what I want to do. Basically I create one long file in AudioShare containing 7 chords, 7 lead notes and 7 base notes with plenty of space in between them. Then import to impc and chop into a single program from there. Cheers, Robert
