iPhone 6 'touch disease' - is this a thing for any of you?

I was thinking the 6 may be my next phone. Any of you folks experiencing this problem?

  • I have a 6. It's happened a few times. Can't answer the phone, freezes up, have to hit the home button a couple time to wake it up.

It has been annoying but it doesn't happen enough that I would try to sue. That's a joke, but Apple should own their mistakes if it is proven that they knew about it.

I still like my phone. Love the 128 gb! I had two androids when they first came out and I doubt I'll ever go back.

Mine is laggy, making me tap things a couple times before it responds, but I thought that was just iOS 10.

If you have a choice get the 6s. It's supposed to be quite a bit more capable and sturdy compared to the 6 and probably won't cost much more at this point. I would upgrade my 6, but I'm tired of spending money on this stuff.

  • I've missed several phone calls as a result of this. So far, I've only noticed it on incoming calls.

  • Had mine over a year, no problems

  • I have a newer 6s plus. No problems of the sort

  • It's happened 2-3 times with both my 6 and daughters - and happening a little more frequently with my wife's 6. It usually goes away after a minute or two -sometimes a few secs.

  • Thanks for the testimonials everyone. So far it is sounds like 6S users have not experienced this...

  • do you guy's ever hard reset your phones?

press and hold both buttons until it switches off and then release when the apple logo shows?

    works wonders ;)

  • Jajaja, So... basically nobody has this problem. But everyone's has some problem....

  • I reset after charging to 100%

  • I have a 6plus and this problem happen to me every day, several times per day. But I live in Switzerland and the low is not protecting the consummer here...

  • I had a 6 and never experienced this.

Me too (6plus). I'm just so bloody lazy to go renew my upgrade to 7plus, pay a little more (even with my mint trade up), and live the dream. Go iPhone 7series!!!!!!

My 6+ has had the incoming call swipe problem a few times, and until now I thought it was just me. Ive encountered no other problems as reported in the article, and I hope they don't start cropping up now.

  • 6 Plus - I've had the swipe not working on incoming calls twice, but nowhere else that I can tell. (And this is coming from someone who uses their phone a lot, for primarily non-phone things!) ;)

It's been in an OtterBox from day one, so probably hasn't suffered the physical abuse/bending that some put their phones through.

  • Dunno about iPhones but my Air 1 died of it a few months ago. Everything else works, just touch slowly intermittently then finally died.

  • Carried multiple scars of honor though. Guess it lasted well.

  • Yes, this happened to me quite a few times on my old 6 plus.
