Does Ableton Link work on IOS7 ?

Does Ableton Link work on IOS7 ? it seems to me that its not working and requires at least IOS 8 which is a bummer cause i have an old ipad 2 and really do not want to upgrade to IOS 10...!!
can someone confirm?

    i can try upgrade to 8 (with odysseusOTA2) but i am scared that the performance will get worst....

    Oh. It definitely will be worse. I forever regret upgrading my ipad3 beyond 7.12. It's performance is maybe 50% what it used to be on gadget etc.
    I don't use my ipad3 anymore. Just bought an air2 when I got too frustrated.
    Do yourself a favour. Keep it on 7.12 and maybe get a second device for link.
    Like the mini2.

    there's a big big BIG flaw in your reasoning. Did you really think the iPad 2 received iOS 10? Well... it didn't so you're safe in that regard.

    I don't now if you can update to the latest version your device supported (9.3.5 I think) and it's up to you but if you finally decide to update just go for it, why go to iOS 8?. It was like the worst version of iOS, just go to 9. My old iPad 3 is of course slower than on iOS 6 at this point that's to be expected (2012-2016 it's a long life for a mobile device, 2011-2016 in your case)but I can totally get leaving it as it is.
    Maybe just get a new iPad?
