Top midi controllable FX on iPad

What's your favorite midi-controllable fx? Interested in finding out what people are using. Relevant info: purpose, price, compatibility (iaa, au, etc etc), and quality

With the intimidating amount of fx out there I'm curious which are worth my time exploring

  • I had effectrix going the other day with the bcr2000 midi knob controller and it was excellent, using the push encoder to switch an effect on and the encoder to tweak one of the knobs. Arranged the effects in 8 channels, vertically, like a mixing board, and it was madness.

Effectrix is $15. Compatible with everything, though the Link isn't working right in Audiobus as of the current version. The midi clock is workable, eventually. The intended purpose is beat sequenced effects, where your knob moves can be looped or step sequenced, but is also nice just as a multi-effects unit. You can switch sequences with midi notes, and use CC's to control whatever. It is a port from the computer, so the midi is complete.

Others to look at: Flux:FX, Turnado, Altispace, Emo Chorus. I like the amp/pedal simulators too, all of them are good. Analogkit is great for building your own effects, and running stuff from audiobus through them, if you are the tinkering type.

  • The AUFX plugins (Dub, Space, Push, PeakQ) are killer.

  • Sugar Bytes

  • Moebius for me...

And one BCR 2000 can control all of them. :)

Also, Holderness Media effects are all good with MIDI control.

  • Möbeius. Turnado. Au:FX.
