Tonebridge causing Modstep and Auria crashes on launch

Just a heads up. I was having modstep crashing issues and some kind users mentioned that ToneBridge may have been at the root of the crash on launch. So...if you notice that Modstep and/or Auria are now crashing on you it might be due to the latest ToneBridge update.

I uninstalled it and ModStep is running like normal. I can't confirm Auria, but another user mentioned that it works when ToneBridge is removed.

Anyhoo...just thought I'd let you all know because it was driving me bonkers yesterday trying to figure out what was up.

  • I suggest turning off "Load last session on startup" in the settings for ModStep. This will always start ModStep with an empty project on startup. That way, if there is a plugin causing crashing, you don't get caught in an unrecoverable loop.

That used to happen to me regularly and with more than one plugin. With the last update I haven't had this happen, but it seems the potential is still out there. Better to be safe than sorry.

  • Here's a copy of what I put in the Tonebridge thread yesterday:

Hey hey, the Auria forum has noticed a glitch involving Tonebridge: Since the most recent Tonebridge update, Auria was having trouble opening up, whether or not Tonebridge was open or not. In my case Tonebridge was updated yesterday(10/28/16) and when everything was not open Auria would not open. Tried closing all apps and rebooting, still no Auria. I deleted Tonebridge and Auria opened and functioned normally. I love Tonebridge, hopefully it's a weird glitch that can be fixed.
