ZOOM U-24 /iOS 10.2 Problem .SOLVED.

Since iOS 10.2 the U-24 audio drivers aren't recognised. Any users confirm this one way or the other I'd be grateful.

Comments

  • Working fine on my Mac.

  • tested on pc too. just no joy on iPad Pro 9.7" or iphone 5

  • reported to apple. hopefully it'll get sorted during the beta

  • Just dodged a bullet then , had it on the amazon cart a few days ago and have waited to research it a bit more

  • Absolutely no problem on Air 1 and 2 iOS 10.1.
Using a (cable) MIDI splitter, with 2 inputs: BSP sequencer and PCR-300...into U24
MIDI out from U24 goes back to BSP.

Only USB cable is iPad to ZOOM u24

Did you try a different USB cable?

  • @soundklinik yes, also seems midi in/ out still functioning. Have a behringer card still working. Mysterious. Fingers crossed i can find the fix before my gig on Saturday!

Good luck, hope you sort it out...

You use more/mostly USB? Just out of curiosity, what is your setup?

  • Constant reconfiguration centered around the echoplex pro and iPad pro. maybe involving a blofeld, asr-x or kaoss pad. When home alone its looping /effecting, synced to drum apps one man band style. always experimenting with different setups, thats why i love iOS. rarely arrange or record more in the moment sound design. hbu?

    I think I finally got a system that works...controllers <|>iPad.
Involves PCR-300 keyboards and BSP sequencer with Zoom U24 and one (or two) iPads
(2nd iPad is connected with the lightning to phones adapter that goes to ZOOM inputs for audio only.)

I got rid of all USB connections and use only MIDI cables because I could never get things working properly.
Both go to MIDI in of ZOOM (into a Y MIDI cable) both can be playing at the same time and control, be controlled independently. In this setup PCR can use all controllers for apps

ZOOM's MIDI out returns to BSP so I can record notes into it.
If I want to record notes from PCR into BSP, I change the connection to BSP MIDI in.

The biggest surprise was that ANY MIDI gear works with iPad if it passes through ZOOM's midi.
I'm getting a lightning extension cable M/F , 3' long so I don't have the CCK dangling out of iPad.
