Best Saxophone Simulation App or Sample in IOS

Guys anyone can recommend a great app to simulate the Saxophone or A Free multi sample to use with ThumbJam?

Comments

  • Heavy brass , ifretless Sax And sampletank

  • iM1 has some awesome sax samples.

  • The sax you can get with ThumbJam sounds great to me, and is easy to play. The iFretless Sax is probably the best sounding, but is more geared to a traditional musicians skills in terms of getting what you want.

  • For funk-leaning riffs, Heavy Brass. For sax as a lead instrument, iFretless and perhaps ThumbJam.

  • iFretless for verisimilitude.

    Agree with both of these.
There are also some good sax soundfonts floating around out there.

  • If you are a guitarist, it's worth running a guitar via MIDI Guitar and into Sampletank. The articulations (hammers and slides) translate really well for virtual sax playing.

  • Been using my Casio ctk3200 through crystalline and echo pad for beautiful breathy brass sounds. Pretty good value setup.

  • Whichever one you go with, remember to (also simulate the need to) breathe.

    Yes yes yes

  • I was really impressed at the sound quality of the Sax in SampleTank 2! Liked the Alto Sax with delay, really nice!
I think i'm going to definitely go for the All sounds pack next time around. MIssed the sale again as I was saving for something else, ended up buying Oddy...

    Anyways, thanks guys!

  • Tried sampletank and ifretless sax and to me the thumbjam sax sounds the best in a busy mix. When i took the reverb down in ifretless it kinda sounded whanky.

I use an EWI into SampleTank and although there is no aftertouch support, it sits better in a mix than the Thumbjam sax. I should mention that Thumbjam's implementation of aftertouch is very well done. It's just down to quality of samples at that point and I think IK put more effort into their sample sets.
