Do you host IAA in Audiobus or AUM when using them together?
Just trying to figure out the most stable and responsive set up.

Comments
For me, it depends. Audiobus is my go to, but if things don't seem to be working well then I try different setups/config/routing.
How about others? I've heard audiobus optimized it's IAA code. Is that true?
The advantage of hosting in audiobus is that app state can be saved.
But, I worry that it is an extra link in the chain that can break.
I have used both. Some apps just seem to like one over the other. Like csspectral only works in AB and not AUM... Some cases of link sync is better in AB then AUM. Still kind of a wild frontier but much better these days with options.
State saving wins here!
Same. And the AB app switcher.
True the AB app switcher is righteous. As for state saving, i load, i record, i leave, never to return.
AB's global transport works in more situations. AB's switcher is consistent and always present while IAA's isn't. AB remote is great.
I find myself using AB more now, whereas before it was AUM. I've tried using both a couple times with various configurations with mixed results. I couldn't get repeatability despite doing things in the same order.
Yeah. Just to be clear, it's usually AB with AUM on the outputs. AB benefits listed above plus easy recording and mixing and send effects.
Non Specific "Daily" Workflow Experimentation Jam Set Up
AUDIOBUS open.
I usually use AUM in the INPUT slot for I.A.A. exclusive apps or AU hosting. These apps are then routed back into the OUTPUT slot of Audiobus.
I use LOOPY, LOOPERSONIC, and/or GROUP THE LOOP in the output slot.
That sums it up for average workflow.
I use AB for inputs, AUM for outputs.
