Die hard loopy fan here! But are there any other good looping apps out there?
Die hard loopy fan here! But are there any other good looping apps out there? I would wait for loopy 3 but I am growing a bit impatient. Sorry
Comments
I was also a die-hard Loopy fan - now I more often will use Blocs Wave - it loops, changes loop tempo, AND KEY (something Loopy does not - Loopy Masterpiece will whenever it's released..)
Can u control blocs wave with a midi foot pedal? I've been waiting for loopy 3 masterpiece 4 ever .. but I can't wait anymore. Sure I'll buy it when it comes out, but I need something in the mean time
I'd mention LoopTree but it still doesn't have Link, crossing my fingers but not holding my breath. Plenty of people will probably pile on Blocs Wave, so I won't have to, oops...
Group the Loop
Group the loop is the only contender for live looping. Blocs doesn't have midi foot pedal support. Be aware that GTL still has some deficiencies in the midi control area. You can't select/play next group with one button, there's no cue for loops inside a group, etc. It's close but not quite there for me to make a switch.
Thanks for the replies , with every app i get, there's always a slight learning curve. I guess I'm getting a bit tired of it all and I just want to get straight to CREATING music. > @lukesleepwalker said:
Thank u Jedi master, I think I shall continue to conquer loopy. I just hope when loopy 3 comes out, it won't be too different from the original... as far as the workflow goes.
Anybody have an idea of when Loopy 3 will be released?
I've always had my eye on Loopersonic. Opinions?
yeah Group the loop and Loopersonic look good.
Haven't tried either. I do have Loopy but am not a fan, so.....I guess I could consider one of these as well. Not sure I need it yet.
For live looping, Loopy is the king, as far as I'm concerned. I've tried all of the others and they all have interesting features and things to add, but nobody puts the full package together like Loopy does. I await Loopy 3 like a child staring at the chimney for Santa's black boots to appear.
I have Loopersonic and Group the Loop but Loopy is still my number one. Don't count Group the Loop out though. With the addition of time stretch and Link it really upped the ante. @Lukesleepwalker. By turning off Cue you can start and stop a group immediately. Loopy 3 has me champing at the bit too.Bring it on.
Group the Loop is great. Quantiloop looks great but needs a better manual.
To the OP, what does Loopy not do that you are looking for?
Loopy's extensive MIDI is great, endless ways to make unusual MIDI controllers. At the moment, I'm working on a gesture-based looper that uses accelerometer to control Loopy while I play synths on the iPad. Also I have a project that builds on Loopy's "one-shot" trigger option, still sorting that one out.
I guess what I'm saying is, why not get Lemur or MIDI Designer and make Loopy into what you want it to be? Or at least it can give you something fun to do while we wait for Loopy 3! ;-)
Looptical was good in its day has IAA
Hello, yes loopy is #1 NO DOUBT! I bought midi designer pro just so that I can send those "super duper super powered midi messages" ! But damn .. like I was saying b4. Now I gotta learn midi designers pro's learning curve and figure out how to make it work with loopy.
I'm just ready to jam with loopy 3
I hear ya on that!
