Not exactly what you want, but it has MIDI out so you can send the trigger to any sample player

  • Went to see a man about a dog, while I was waiting in the car I played with this beauty.

  • Nice @mister_rz ! I'd never heard of that.

TC-data and TC-orbiter are great also. But there would need to an intermediary app to convert the CC data to a note on/off trigger.

  • @mister_rz that gyro synth is cool, but wouldn't it be great to be untethered from the cable with that? Too bad BT audio has latency issues. I bet BT MIDI would work though...

  • Why is Gyrosynth Not in the switzerland AppStore ?

Thx, seemed that I got that app already. So downloaded it immediately. But see that the samplepart is not functioning anymore under iOS 9.3.4 that i'm running. Also I can't record anymore, looks like the app is abandon ware :(

  • Comes back on with sweaty top lip, ok, ok I admit it, in my haste I never read the reviews more thoroughly, seems like this is an app in need of an update, also in need of a dagger companion app. How can we get the devs undivided attention, I'm going with horses heed.

  • @mister_rz smmes that I was a little bit too fast. The samples that are stored in the app are working. But recording through mic doesn't work. Yes, this app could use an update. Would be nice with to import through audioshare.

  • Seriously, check out tc-orbiter. It does all the gyrosynth type of stuff, but sends data out over MIDI

I love all of beepstreet apps, but fear they might of given up on ios, hope they are just busy trying to squash bugs on the mac and pc versions, only to remember that the grass is always greener on ios, sun is always that bit brighter, apart from ios updates, new i-device wonkyness, au implementation mares and other things that can wake you from a slumber screaming noooooo.

Audioshare support would be great for this and impaktor, maybe i-sequence, although I've had to let that one go, but I draw a line in the sand at the others and watch the tide come in.

Think I might have this for my iphone although I'm still on the 4, munchie lets me use her 6 under strict supervision, going to try it out, love this dev's work too.

Okay, the only thing I found so far is a not so clear promo movie for tc-orbiter. It's more promo for orbiter and tc-11. Although cheap enough to give it a try, want to do some more research. If you have any suggestions for demo material let me know.

    Okay, thx. Looks interesting :)

updated info. Not what I"m searching for, as you already suggested.

  • ShakeMidi was the app I used some years ago. Very good, it could trigger MIDI note on/off by shaking the iPhone. Very successful in situations where you just give the phone to a bystander, and let him shake/trigger a synth (on another phone/tablet/computer) to produce sounds through the PA.

    ROTOR will do this.

EDIT: Whoops, not a universal app.

  • @mannix So do you want to shake it like a tambourine or like a drum stick? Like a single hit?

Last year I was tinkering with a design using MIDI Designer Pro and TC-Orbiter to use my iPhone as a "Air drummer" where twisting the wrist changed drum sample and a flick of the wrist triggered the sample. It was promising... but I lost interest.

ShakeMidi seems unfortunately not available anymore in the Appstore

@Htmx TC-Orbiter seems intersting but I can't find any deeper info about it. You said it was promising. Did it work well or did you came across (annoying) bugs?

  • @mannix , the apps are stellar. TC-Orbiter has amazing control and immediate response. If you want to wave your phone around and have a resonant filter go nuts, sure it's simple to set up.

It just takes time to program more complex stuff to do what I want. I just haven't had the time to perfect it. Maybe this weekend I can make a demo video

I see. Luckily I still have it on my iPhone.

Another option is Lemur. I'm sure it won't be difficult to link the accelerator source to MIDI note out. And then send notes to up to 8 different MIDI ports!

  • I'm surprised no one's mentioned AC Sabre. I'm not a user, but as far as I know it will do this.
