  • Yep think it's just some update fixes to keep things smooth until the new version drops

  • Si is it worth it ? Iam on a metered connection with limited data, is it worth a 870mb download ?

  • Don't know really. I've had little problems with the old version on my Air2 iOS 10.0.2

FWIW, and bearing in mind others experience may be different, in my case every IOS update means I had to reinstall this app if I wanted any sound. Then restore purchases, I've also never managed to get a reply to an e-mail from these guys. The sounds are very good, though.

I can testify to the having to reinstall each time. This is actually the first update where I haven't had to! And watch out as projects often go wrong with updates in my experience.

I have used Beathawk on almost every iOS project I've done. I have never lost sound or had to reinstall after an update, and I just checked after this latest update, and I have not lost sound.

HOWEVER, I did once loose sound and transport functionality (it happened after using AudioCopy to transfer some audio from Figure to Beathawk).

Here is a trick I learned that should help you fix things:

Connect to your computer and use iTunes (or iFunbox or some other iTunes surrogate) and delete the Beathawk database file. It is called beathawk.db.

This should reset Beathawk and bring back sound, fix frozen transport, etc. Try this first. It should restore Beathawk to normal operation without the need to reinstall.

  • I would suggest that if you're not having problems currently and this is but an interim fix then hold off until the big bugger that's (soon, hopefully) coming....

  • After the update AudioCopy doesn't work. Keeps sending me to the paste board instead of opening Audiocopy. Guess I'll wait for another update to fix the update. Ok another note why doesn't audioshare recognize iTunes folder when importing from another app?

  • Anyone else having trouble recording/coming in on the first note? It's really frustrating when trying to groove and your first note is muted but is picked up on the second pass. That is when a piano roll really comes in handy and is nice to fix an edit.

I agree... same problem. I hope they fix this?

  • So can anyone confirm the big update has arrived, someone posted in another thread that it has arrived

I do have a buzz, but I was referring to the date of the last Beathawk update. B)

    Yeah me too lol

  • An 880mb download for an update to Audiocopy....NO THANKS

Update must be smaller than that because it only took like five seconds to download. Surprised me as well

  • Most app-updates are incremental/partial so the download size is most of the time a lot smaller that the full bundle-size unless an update fails in which case the whole app has to be downloaded...

  • Updated to 2.1.0 (August 30th)..

  • Well, appreciate the update but it doesn't fix the AU state saving in keyboard mode issue, unfortunately.

  • Midi output destination port added for hardware!

  • I've been wanting to use several AU instances of BH in BM3 and in my experience I start having troubles around 3 instances of BH in BM3 (within a project containing other AUfx/AUi). AU instantiation, stability, the AU state saving in keyboard mode issue mentioned by @lukesleepwalker... I'm running an iPad Pro 9.7 1st gen with the latest iOS.

The sound quality of the BH libraries is great and I'm really hoping for it be a more reliable AU rompler plugin. As long as Sampletank is not an AU, there's really no competition.

  • i can't get midi to work at all after update. anybody else having this issue?

Yep, classic case of first mover advantage in the AU rompler derby and they haven't taken advantage.

  • Is not compatible with iPad4 anymore.

  • cannot send midi out anymore after this update? anybody know why?
