  • It says 14 gig piano. As I have a 128 gig iPhone and 128 gig iPad Pro , this might make sense. The video demo blew me away. I'm gonna pull the trigger on this one

  • I have bought the dark piano and is the best!!! Great samples, in other league.
I have got many others like igrand, korg module with ivory, cmp grand piano with expansion, Lyra with fazioli in EXS format, and Alicia keys in my kontakt PC, and for my ears this is the best.
Im a profesional pianist, and this is the piano I am waiting..

  • I have an ipad pro 12.9 128 GB and works great, and with others app in backround like sampletank, Galileo organ...

  • I receive a mail from crudebyte and the dark model is based in BECHSTEIN D280 CONCERT PIANO

The Bechstein in CMP Grand is quite lovely, (definitely reminds me of the one I used to play) and your saying this one is better. Uh oh, said my bank acct. Did it take a month to download? (12Gb...)

  • Ok, I'm buying Colossus piano now. Thanks guys

  • I have this also and it's very, very good.

  • This piano app is certainly good, but, who's this guy (xagerado) with a splitter new account here that talks so well about this product?

I too suspicious in every case, especially this kind of marketing...

Are I'm alone with this thoughts?

    @xagerado - Who are you?

  • To tell you this much Xajerado soul when translated to English from Spanish it means Exagerated :#

    Wow, 24Gb :o I see it's named Colossus for a reason

    >

I thought that was because of it being almost £40, plus expensive IAP's :)

Seriously, the demo sounds good, but not that much better than the half dozen already excellent piano apps I have.

Yes you are. And whats wrong with the marketi g or anything about this whole thing? Price isnt all that much compared to what desktop stuff costs, size is pretty standard to what top quality desktop stuff is, and ofc the quality requires that sort of size.. Even if you arent able to distinquish the quality with your monitoring setup or ears, or maybe you just dont care enough about having the top quality. This app is for those who do care about the quality and are willing to pay desktop plugin prices for it and have it take some extra space for the quality. I think its time to pull out your head and welcome to the real world of music production..

And seriously think about it. These people at crudebyte are trying to make at least a few bucks for their hard work putting out a next level piano app, and you talking this kind of shit here takes away from the little sales this sort of apps do sell. How would you feel as a shop owner about some kids yelling shit about your shop so that people wouldnt want to come to shop at your place?

We get this view, again and again. But the truth is it doesn't matter what the desktop market equivalents costs, this is IOS on the App Store. That is the market in which this product must compete. Your argument is like saying sugar used to cost more than gold, but now it's cheap, yet one company wants to sell better sugar at a much higher rate.

Yes, any developer should charge whatever they think a product is worth, etc, etc, and no one is being forced to buy. But the argument that these kind of prices are required to make a few quid surely means that almost every other developer must be working for free. Including the likes of Korg, who offer far more, IMHO.

I understand this point of view, but then again i dont see anything wrong with some developers trying to push things more to the desktop/industry standards. And there is another point to the price that i forgot to mention. This app because of its size alone isnt for everyone. Because its not for everyone, the app wont probably sell as much. Because the app doesent sell that much, the developers still need to make some money for the work they put to this. Only way to get money from an app that doesent sell much is to raise the price. Also the developers already do have a cheaper alternative, so clearly they arent trying to compete with the cheaper stuff, but to push things further in terms of quality. Even if the quality isnt even audible with most monitors and the difference isnt all that big(due to already high quality of piano apps that the same company and others made), some people still appreciate it. And im glad that they did make an app for those people. I admit that im not a person who this is for, but i still appreciate the fact that they made this app for those who want the highest quality, even if it takes more space on their ipads and costs a bit more than the standard ios piano apps. I dont think that they are trying to compete with anything existing now really, there is no competition in this spot of the piano app markets.

  • It may sound good, but I just don't play proper piano well enough or even have a proper piano weighted keyboard to really get the best out of this. So for myself, I'm out. I do however like seeing the iOS market have new product available, however niche or not for me it may be :)

  • I have a new account, yes. Im not someone who work to crudebyte. I only post my opinion.
Im a profesional pianist and I have many app with pianos. This one is on another league. The price for me, I think its not expensive if you compare with Alicia keys, fazioli or others.
Is the first piano in appstore with 24 layers, sampled in 24 bits, and realy nice samples.
compared with others like igrand, korg module etc, this piano has more realism.
If you are happy with others app less expensive, there aren’t no problem

Seriously, if you cant hear the difference between igrand, korg module, cmp grand piano and now this piano, you have a ear problem jeje.
The igrand sound is looped, the korg module is good but has artificial sound, the CMP is very good in sound but when you press many notes in suntain has a HISSS noise.
The dark piano has beautiful sound, the PIANOS are really pianos, has more realistic sound with sustain notes. NO NOISES. I play many pianos in kontakt too and this one for me is one of the best.

  • And that is the crux of it. Many here don't need this level of piano and if they did, would probably already have bought it already without needing much in the way of reassurance ;)

  • Maybe it's niche is for really good discerning pianists to play in a 'mobile' way. Otherwise, I wonder as to how it would fit in the (space critical) iOS music making eco-system ?

I have to say, I'd go to the NI 'The Giant' Kontakt library for a good piano sound on the desktop, primarily because of iOS's lack of a file system for working with large projects / large pools of source material - but that's another story...

Once again, I like Crudebytes software, and have a lot already of theirs apps, but, I think it's peculiar that all of a sudden a new member here post three replys in five minutes with one message: "You guys must buys this, it's the best"...

And, a lot of customers have wonder why Crudebytes not mention in the description that this piano is sampled from a Bechstein, but this new member has all the information...

I don't like this... this is something new in this forum...

But, hey, it's certainly the best piano we have just now in the iOS community, and, if it's important with this quality, buy it!

My question is still not answered: @xagerado - who are you?

  • @ErrkaPetti Please we are not in the FBI , FSB or in the stasi , he told you he just bought the piano and he is not affiliated with crudebyte ...There are new members everyday in this forum , very strange indeed . People can say they love or hate an app ? Where is the problem ? I don't see the point ...It would be a shame if with 40 go it was the worst piano on IOS lol .More storage it takes , better quality it have , I guess it's simple .No need to dive in paranoia for this ...

  • Im a new user. Im a pianist. I like ios. I use sampletank, Galileo organ, and other app in IOS. I LIKE THIS PIANO and I think is the best.
I said that the CMP has errors like Hiss noise.
I only post my opinion. If you like buy it, if you don’t like play others app less expensive

I agree. Welcome @xagerado :) this forum is so helpful and while you probably won't get answers to every question, you'll definitely get appholism :# o:)

Anyways glad you like getting piano. To me iGrand Piano has been extremely satisfactory and for what I do. But just like to me as a guitarist, nothing beats the sweet bellish tone of an American made Stratocaster electric guitar, many will find and have opinions for others. It's ok.

Just enjoy your purchase and make some awesome music; life's too short! ;)

This piano at the moment is very good for me.
