STROM currently free for ipad. (18/11/2016)

"STROM is an incredibly fun sampler.
Record up to 10 seconds of audio, slice and sequence it, resample, create something entirely new!
The super responsive interface lets you sequence your source material in unique ways. You can always resample what you play, allowing you to quickly lift your audio into glitch heaven. You can edit slices while you are playing them - this lets you come up with really interesting grooves.
STROM's sampler integrates nicely with other apps:
Copy audio from any app, using AudioShare and AudioCopy/Paste. Mangle them with STROM's slice engine. Share your sliced samples with your friends! Copy them back to any other app for further processing."

Nice, I've been wondering about this one.
What's the deal with Strom? Don't you need some kind of hardware to realize its potential?
That was short sale... Again back to it's normal price $4.99(?)
btw I see it's updated but no AB, Midi, Link...
Working for me. https://itunes.apple.com/app/id907044543
GrEATTTTTT APP
If you do Dub Trap Glitch House bam!
Great for crazy gate wobble type sound manipulating and vocal tweaking
Love this app.
This app is Samplr' second cousin on his mom's side.
I see. Downloading now. Thx @iamspoon
Cool, it's on the bus, too. http://audiob.us/get/855/STROM
There is an IAP for users of Elektron's Analog Rhythm Machine.
@mannix you're welcome, hope you have fun with it.
Do you have it? Anyone else?
Nope. No Elektron Hardware here.
Planned to get a Monomachine once, but wimped out/got distracted by other bits of gear : )
Works great if you have an analog rhythm. Of which I can say I'm now a proud owner![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I always wanted to try this. Ummm... it is better than I expected.
You can import samples into the app using the document picker (AudioShare, Dropbox, Google Drive, . . .).
Wow, for FREE it's great. It's like a streamlined Samplr in a way.
But for $4.99? I'm glad I resisted getting it when it first came out. It's not worth that. But for free, or even 1.99 it is excellent. It does a few things very well and now with AB & IAA it makes it very easy to use as a sample trigger or overdub "dropper" so to speak. Want to fly in a sample without MIDI and a bunch of tedium, hit record on your DAW and fire away...
Thanks to the dev for the sale...
Thanks for the heads up @iamspoon . Cool little app
For what it's worth this is one of those apps (for me anyways) that I jump into one time and get nothing, wonder what I was thinking of etc., but then take another go and pow!
With AB it's suddenly gone from the 'maybe one day' pile to the 'use it' pile...
Thanks!
What's the IAP RYTM? $19.99. What does it do?
See the OP's second post.
Got it thanks!
Whoa, this app is great for free
, I would have payed 10. Super sweet for chopping up beatboxing into new patterns.

I am wondering the same thing.
when is there going to be an update to this app for non-Rytm users?
Got this yesterday- a good fun thing, and pleased to see that with a bit of teasing I could get it to work with AUM.
There's the potential to make a horrible racket, which I did, but lots of possibilities for rhythmic stuff too.
Will definitely use it in a track, in horrible racket mode.
Johnny I think a ton of apps are like that for most of us. I remember when we did the app collection screen shots thread a lot of us had a lot of the same apps with different takes on them, but all feeling like having them (using them daily or not) is like having more paint colors to put on the canvas. Sometimes they get rediscovered.
I am getting close to tapped on my storage on my 64GB Air2 so I will have to excise some to the cloud (which is not always convenient but it's better than being SOL and never getting to use it again.) A thing I've been doing (especially on drum apps and apps where the interface just wears on me) is sampling the sounds in AudioShare and then deleting them off the iPad.
Those seemingly useless "live drumset" apps where you tap the drumkit on screen sometimes have decent samples so I'll grab those and then dump the app. Same with an instrument. Either sample every third to fifth or so and then plot it out on the keyboard or get samples of say, some synth noises or atmospheric riffs, and catalog them by key.
Just some thoughts on getting bang for the buck from apps, especially if excising them from storage. The real cool thing though about synth instruments & apps like Strom are they are low on space requirements and can be used for multiple reasons (Strom with the sample recording, editing and live performance aspects for example).
Strom has great loop detection and export too, I think only CS spectral is as good in that regard.
Some stuff to think about there. Thanks for jotting it down.
