iMini et al. Followup after show-and-tell with Retronyms
Hi all,
Wanted to give you some feedback.
Met today with Eric & co. from Retronyms via a live video feed. Demonstrated the critical Audiobus and IAA issues we have been noting and they expressed a desire to get that fixed as soon as they can.
Hopefully I can fit in to the beta test scheduling for that this time out (I was unwell last iteration so couldn't fit it in).
In addition, I mentioned the following:
Critical:
1.) Same issue with iProphet and Phase84. Demonstrated.
Bugfixes:
1.) Output volume scaling on iMini needs fixing. Top 2/3 almost 0 change. (Demonstrated)
2.) iProphet velocity sensitivity needs adding to conform to hardware and Desktop V version.
3.) iProphet polyphonic grumbling develops over time. I need to investigate this more; it may be a bug from the original Arturia code - apparently it happens on the desktop too, but they are aware of it.
4.) Don't automatically listen to newly presented MIDI ports
Nice-to-have:
1.) Sustain pedal on iMini. Not there on the hardware, but is on Mini V. (Demonstrated).
2.) MIDI CC manual value entry
3.) IAA transport bar in iMini should be easier to get to (Demonstrated)
4.) IAA / Audiobus input and output to Tabletop - would make it much more useful.
5.) AU versions - eventually
I'll LYK as things progress.
Thanks @Retronyms for taking the time and listening today. Much appreciated.
Cool!

@MusicInclusive Thanks for taking point position on this!
very cool, thanks a lot for your initiative @MusicInclusive
let's hope for good round of bug fixes from Retronyms, these are among my favorite synths so any improvements are very welcome
Eric is a good dude.
I am never disappointed at the sincerity and professionalism regarding the team at Retronyms.
Class act those boys be.
Now if Music Inclusive can call my family and tell them I am not coming in for Thanksgiving and negotiate that for me! LOL
Ummm. Retronyms we can do. But, that's a tall order there!
Awesome!!
I should say so. Plus plus.
For real, good man. Way to go. We'd probably have the flying car by now if every bug reporter was as helpful as you are.
Thanks for doing this @MusicInclusive. I'm very appreciative of your work and time in working with the devs in improving this nice app.
This is fantastic! Thanks for driving this. The "grumbling" thing you speak of with iProphet has been driving me nuts since I bought the app. I LOVE how it sounds, but the clipping/noise kicks in any time I really get into something.
Thanks for the encouraging words folks. Thankful to have had the opportunity to move it a tad forward. Hoping for good results
Thank you!
As best battles are won with joint forces, I also contacted Retronyms for giving support to sustain pedal ( I also sent a video).
Regarding too hot volume on the presets I found a workaround: load Imini as IAA in AUM and bring the volume fader down. With that you dont suffer the clipping problems.
All the best
Well done @MusicInclusive !!
Thumbs up.
Thank you.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated, we can often be guilty of moaning about bugs rather than putting in the effort to track them down and see them through to elimination.
Now that Eric has the evidence he needs, these things will get sorted.
Indeed - always good when several folks highlight things to vendors. That's how we got some headway with iOS 9.3 with Apple I think too. There are other examples. Recently the issue with Roli is another good example.
The best thing (true in all these cases) is when the companies do actually listen to their paying customers and do something positive.
I dream of having a useable iProphet. And an actual MANUAL would be great - but I won't hold my breath for that
Hi retronyms. Please let geert Bevin take over. I'll pay you.
Of course, next we all need to get Apple to add usable ports and magsafe back to their Macbooks (and I'd like Firewire back too! ) so we can call them "Pro" machines again. But, that's another story...
Uh oh, look who's about to have a meeting at the big new spaceship building.
