Next Auria update will have ultra-low latency buffer settings!
Rim just told me next update will include buffers of 64 and 32 frames, pushing iPad audio recordings into the ultra-low latency realm!

Which iPad models can realistically pull that off?
Maybe just the Pro's?
@Brambos, since my old 2010 MBP, which has a Geekbench score a few dozen points less than the iPad Pro I currently have, used to do it just fine when recording audio, it's reasonable to infer that my iPad Pro can pull that off - it's the 9.7" one! - and the bigger one surely will be able to do it. About the other models, well... if you want pro-grade performance, better getting a Pro to be sure, but I suppose the second-gen Air can do it as well.
Impressive! Looking forward to trying it out.
This is very interesting.
Does any class compliant interface allow you to run it at 32 frames? Or would I need a special interface to take advantage of this feature?
This will only be for initial external audio only tracking though , won't it ?
I thought there is an IOS imposed minimum buffer for using midi instruments ,
so we won't be able to use those with lower latency whether hosted in Auria or otherwise.
And the heavy CPU Auria fX wont be running at 32 samples ,...
so for (post tracking) production am I right to think this will have no benefit ?
Tracking is when it's most useful anyway, you don't need low latency for mixing. Not sure if there is a minimal low latency for MIDI, I've never heard of one. There is an upper limit of 512 samples for MIDI, but I don't see why there would be a lower limit.
ah ,maybe I misread the midi buffer thing somewhere .
but I meant production , not mixing , so low(er) latency is enough to compose , trigger , overdub etc.
