Difference Animoog vs Animoog for iPhone

edited November 2016 in General App Discussion

Can anybody tell in a few lines the difference between Animoog and Animoog for iPhone. The price difference is huge, but is the difference in performnce and possibilties also huge?

And do you need de extra MIDI expansion pack when working with Cubase or AUM

  • There are the obvious interface differences and the iPhone doesn't have a multitrack recorder. Aside from that, it's the same app so far as I can tell. The iPad version usually gets updated first.

IAPs don't transfer between the two versions, fwiw, so you'll need to buy the MIDI expansion pack again. I find the iPad version generally more enjoyable to play but I don't regret buying the iPhone version at all -- they did a good job shrinking it down

Okay, thx! What I meant with do I need the midipack: Does Animoog do no midi at all without it. Or does the midi in works so I can sync it through apps like Cubase or AUM?

The midi IAP is for midi out, so you don't need it to do what you asked.

  • copy and paste files from iPad to iPhone = no double purchases. Takes a bit of thought... but possible.

  • There is no hold button when you run the iPhone version on an iPad.
It bugs the hell out of me.

  • @Zetagy and @JeffChasteen Thx! for pointing this things out :)
