Moog Model 15 -Intelligent Randomizer(s) Feature Request Support

Happy Holidays folks, I made this thread to drum up support for the feature request of adding an intelligent randomizer to Moog 15, maybe even a more sophisticated Randomizer than the one in Animoog. The Moog Model 15 seems like such a great learning tool that I thought probably the only thing that could make it an even better learning tool would be a wonderfully , intelligent, safe, randomizer and maybe even going a bit further adding some twist to make the randomizer itself lean towards being an instrument itself by allowing the user to react to the results of the Randomizer.... Anyways finding patches that you like in this way and reverse engineering them after the fact is something that I think would be phenomenal on an instrument like this in particular.
I was talking about it with one of our forum buddies who's of the mind that this feature would subtract from the purity of the instrument but in my opinion not only does a randomizer not intrude on your experience if you don't use it but the whole ethos of using an iPad is kind of openness, and not being trapped by traditional rules and trains of thought. The randomizer in animoog is great and I haven't seen anyone complain about it, I would love to see the continuity between all of moogs apps regarding features like this.

  • Personally, I love the randomize function on synths. Magellan is a good example... I've found many really good sounds that way. Not sure how easy it would be to accomplish what you're suggesting for the Model 15, but I'd like to see it!

Yep sounds good. Where do I sign? On the other hand, perhaps the intelligent randomizer....is within you. puts on sunglasses

  • the moog devs such creative cats I would think they would start with giving the feature the option of a safe mode, and then get creative with it from allowing you to include /omit whatever patches you wanted maybe individually with the option for randomizing sections as well. Then on the back end allowing you to do stuff with the results like duplicate, divide, or freak out any of the randomizing results... kind of like making it so that the randomizer has it's own little after the fact randomizer inside it :)

I'd love it.... animoogs is pretty cool, but something like this could be sweet

Hey @sch, fixed yer post for you.

  • Geert, what do you think is this possible?

  • Yep this would be so cool. Virsyn did a great job on their Addictive Pro randomiser.

  • I'm going to hope and pray to Bob that Geert responds before the sale is over, if they'll consider it then I'll buy it, just think of all the apps it would really be beneficial for this one.

    Cheers, mate!

  • +1 for intelligent randomizer based on some basic types (lead, bass, pad, fx) that randomizes around some basic rules for each type (Bit like in magellan). Even a simple 1 hit randomizer like animoog would be a great addition. Sound design tweaking a random patch would be much more immediate than starting from a blank

  • +1 for randomizers in general in fact

  • C'mon Ge'ert bring this baby on home!

  • Randomisation, on a modular, mmmmmm, now this I have to see B)

  • Would be a nice feature for some. But personally i have decided that everything i do with model 15, i do from scratch

  • who wants some BBQ sauce on their moog model 15 randomizer.... I doooo
