Clock divisions

Anyone know of any app or project within say one of the modular apps that can take midi clock and then send different divisions of that clock to other midi apps? Hope that makes sense.

My idea is only one of experimentation and I'm sure it must be possible in say Audulus or ZMors, but I'm such a numpty when it comes to these apps, so just wondered if someone already knew of something already up and running.

What, like using an arpeggiator and a midi note filter to pick out specific notes and then convert those to triggers?

Sounds interesting. Can you elaborate just a bit how this would work? I think I get what you're suggesting, but not quite sure.

Well for sure in Midiflow you can use either an incoming Midi clock, or Midiflow's internal one. You can divide the clock signal by bpm, or division. You can multiply clock by increasing the incoming tempo, then dividing accordingly. Midiflow has look ahead for clock, so its advantageous to use it for that. If clock is from hardware, then use a controller assignment, which is also good if you want to start/stop clock via midi (Modifier --> Restrict to Conditions-->Midi Clock-->incoming controller--(then Key/Sysex/CC), for example. (If yo have specific apps/devices/needs - would be helpful, lots of clock stuff to consider.

Midisequencer can do clock division as well

Great stuff. Never realised I already have the app I need with MidiSequencer. I really should get more in depth with some of my apps. Thanks I think that's just the ticket by the looks of it

And yes, in Zmors anyway, just hit the + button and add the Clock Divider and/or BPM/Clock, Link, a sequencer etc. There's a Preset called MIdiController that's probably well-suited for this. Then you would just input/output clock accordingly.

Sure, I'm doing a home audio/midi wired ethernet system so I've been obsessed with some clock stuff lately. The innerclock systems website has some terrific and deep info. I learned that quite a few daws etc., start their clips with a built-in volume envelope for fade - which screws up clock when you're trying to sync it from the start. Oh yeah, should have mentioned in Midiflow you can also use MTC input in conjunction with the Clock - so you could clock with that as well, or select mix of MTC/MC inputs and sync/divide accordingly.

Even when I used to have a decent amount of hardware studio gear years back, mains hum was my devil incarnate, until I started to incorporate computers and then their issues over shadowed most everything. But now I only dabble in music on iOS, life's simpler. The only really bad head scratcher is midi. Sometimes things that should work, just don't seem to.
