Ultrasonic Analyzer App
Been playing around with ultrasonic audio a bit lately. You can send Data over Audio at ultrasonic frequencies - using around the 19khz+ as a carrier signal. There's an app called Chirp that sends files this way. I just discovered tonight that Apple Tv also uses ultrasonics. The Ultrasonic Analyzer app can transpose received audio up to 384khz (along w/ a bunch of other sophisticated features). It's designed to be used with ultrasonic field recorders that are iPad compatible, or you can open your previous recordings into the app.
I was thinking this app would be well-suited to pipe audio/midi to something like field/soundscaper - but also to Different Drummer, because of its wave/timbre-based approach of applying sound to parameters - I think it'd be interesting to see how ultrasonic intermodulations affect audible spectrum.
And, my tin-foil hat side wants someone to create an app that detects, and blocks ultrasonics - ultrasonic beacons are out there, fairly profound what you can do between a phone and transmitter.
