  • Thanks for the heads up.

At $2,99, I'll probably buy Phase84 , despite no AB (but IAA). It sounds great and looks fun to play with pads.

I'm not sure about Geoshred. Looking the video loos awesome but, you know, it happen with most of the apps.

  • Phase84 sounds very nice

    I highly recommend Geoshred.
It's fun AND musical. And intuitive.

Yep. I've been considering considering spend my last 10€ on TC-11 but probably this will be my choice.

I vote TC-11. More innovative, although it takes more time to wrap your head around to program. I'm just not a fan of the Geoshred sound engine. My 2 cents.

  • Damn. I have realised TC-11 is universal . Hard decission.

I love Geoshred as an instrument in it's own right - very playable, doesn't get updated much though and it does have at least one current bug. Depends what you're after, TC-11 is a fabulous synth, but for guitar-type lead playing Geoshred is the app I reach for.

    Curious what's the current bug?

  • Can someone summarize TC-11 vs. TC Data?

There's noise (buzzing) when the app is in the background in an IAA/AUM setup and not being played. Selecting and then playing the app stops the buzzing.

Apart from that it's great, one of my favourites. Be nice to have an update occasionally though.

phase84 - lost me at retronyms(sorry but I only say this because of continued disappointments I have with other apps)

    boom909? ok maybe

What are the Boom apps missing? Don't seem to be discussed at all. Is it the sound? At .99 everyone should own it no?

The first is a synth, the 2nd is a template that can be with other synths

I have Boom909 and Boom808. I really like both of them, they are a breeze to use. As far as I remember they have AB. Not sure about IAA? I just use copy and paste ATM and pasted some beats into Auria. Tried toput some keys to it, but have been unable to finish it so far. I say go for it. I know it doesn't have link.

Everyone who likes/loves Phase 84 like I do can get the free AU/VST from here...

I really hope @retronyms gives Luis some time to devote to the iOS version and maybe even give it an AUv3 treatment :)

@fjcblanco if you get any help from general user feedback (which may or may not mirror your own tastes after all), I agree exactly with this. I admire TC-11 very much, but I play Shred, for fun and for final use. Hopefully it will get the update that's promised.....perhaps putting it the other way; if you were going to take one from my iPad I would miss Shred more.

  • Thanks, Johnny.

I have almost zero theory knowledge (except for drums), but I found very useful (as learning tool) and pleasant to play apps like Navichord and others like that.

In the other hand, every human been love strange things like TC-11 that sounds so good.

If you're in a problem for give me an advice, don't worry: I'll probably buy both an I'll start again saving money for DrumSessions.

Bought Gumdrops long time ago also on a sale (believe even for 0.99). Played with it for a few times and never touched it again. Not my thing. DM2 is at the moment still 1.99 and is ime a much better deal if you're into drummachines :)

It's probably best to not even think of gumdrops like a conventional drum machine. I know that was sort of the original aim but, as you said, when compared to something like DM2's grid, it's pretty cumbersome to use. But for doing off kilter beats, gumdrops is really fun. The most fun I've had with it though was to use it as a rhythmic melodic sequencer. Each of the drops can be a single MIDI note. Set up a chord across drops, set different rhythms for different notes in the chord and toggle away.

To be honest I never tried that. Sound as something interesting if your into this kind of experimenting. So can go along with your story. Probably because I'm an old fashion user didn't use it that way.

Sounds fun. Might reinstall and give it a go. Have you tried it with Link to MIDI? I had hoped this would have implemented Link long ago.
