What's with the GIANT QUOTES?
All quoted text now appears in GIANT SCRIPT, it's a bit distracting. There's been a few other glitches with the forum today as well.
Comments
Just have to try.
Indeed.
It's a shame we've lost the wormhole effect from nested quotes as well. That was quite hypnotic once enough quotes were there, it looked like a hole you could fall into and never come out from again.
Hehe, right, have to test that as well, if nothing else because I'm sorting it all out on my own computer via the Chrome add-on "Stylish" where I can add my own styles to sites. I have already reduced the font-size of the quote text.
@Sebastian Is it some kind of joke? Or a mistake? Definately annoying IMO.
Also, YT videos no longer appear inline when I post them:
@Sebastian said he had updated the forum software the other day, so I suspect something to do with that?
Agreed.
Interesting issue (if very slight). I can see that introducing the utility to 'show previous quotes' or not, as we can now, is an upgrade, but then again maybe not. Who'd be a developer
"Fee if fo fum"and stuff like that?
I had not noticed any.
That's definitely a nice little upgrade. Would still work with the old nested quote css shading.
@Michael something like this should sort the size and bring the shading back if you stick at the bottom of the
custom_sandstone.css
.blockquote { border: none; font-size: 1em; background: #f7f7f7; } blockquote blockquote { background: #f1f1f1; } blockquote blockquote blockquote { background: #eaeaea; } blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote { background: #e4e4e4; } blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote { background: #dedede; } blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote { background: #d7d7d7; } blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote { background: #d1d1d1; } blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote { background: #cacaca; } blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote blockquote { background: #c4c4c4; }
You can adjust the shades (and see a preview) here: http://codepen.io/willthemoor/pen/ENwmXB?editors=1100.
At the bottom of the SCSS pane is
@include levels(#f7f7f7, 2.5%, 9);
. That sets the 1) lightest color, 2) the percentage change for each nested<blockquote>
background color and 3) the number of nestedblockquote...{}
declarations to generate. When you get something you like, click the little triangle in the top right of the CSS pane and choose 'View Compiled CSS' to get output like the above (that you can actually shove in a style sheet).http://boffins-avoiding-actual-work.com
What giant quotes?
Okay, should be fixed
Any still happening now?
I would like to state I understand none of this. None.
Oooh... smart people.
You know I went looking for that, right. Of course. Expectations were pretty high actually.....
Can we keep just my quotes big?

Awesome
T'was ever thus...
All good now - thanks
Good-o!
I thought about checking the stylesheet settings too, but it'd be avoiding work and doing work so I thought I'd muck about with silly noises instead.
Thank you @Michael
