Auria Pro and Me
First off, this is not intended to denigrate what is clearly a fine product, etc, etc. But at the moment I simply cannot get on with AP as I'd hoped. What I try to use if for is probably more basic than most users here. All I really want to do, for now, is what I can do in Cubasis. Import .wav files and make them up into full songs. Should be easy peasy, right?
Unfortunately, what I find is that if I have two tracks, into which I want to place let's say 5 individual .wav files, lining them all up so that the first set plays through then continues with the second set, it's a nightmare. I import them from Dropbox, then add the first 5 to track one. What I'd like to see happen is that import one is followed by import two, etc, all in a line and already perfectly sequenced. But what happens is, AP imports them one on top of the other, so unless I do the import individually, and drag the file to where it should be, I begin with an unholy mess.
Then the fun really starts. In Cubasis, aside from the very annoying L&R snap to problem mentioned elsewhere, I can generally pinch and expand the view, then line up my samples as required. But in AP getting the sample to move is always a bit hit and miss, and lining it up butted perfectly against the one before is much harder to achieve. This is on an iPad Air 2 with the latest IOS.
I'm sure there must be other non-power users of AP, who see similar issues. So maybe it would be possible in an update to add a function whereby samples selected for import into a track would line up one after the other. Maybe it can do that already, and I just haven't found out how?

If your snapping to grid with your timeline, just select 'current timeline position' at the bottom of the import page before clicking to import and make sure your marker is where you want it. Not quite as easy, but has a lot of use for being creative when you do want some overlapping
Thanks Fruitbat. Will give it a go.
''Tis ok dude. I've been trying to learn Auria Pro on and off. It's one hell of a DAW really. So used to not ever reading any manuals with iOS as so many simple apps, but Auria really has so much more to it than duffers like myself will ever use. I just aught to put the time in and learn Auria better, it's probably the one app that really requires a bit more work getting to know it well. One day maybe I will put in more effort lol
Actually I know why I don't spend the time.
Every time I open Auria Pro, I open Twin2, make a lush sound. Send it through Volcano and end up fingering a filter sweep with a big cheesy grin on my face until I've run out of time
Lining up WAVs in the timeline should be super simple, just make sure you have the right snapping settings.
You could set the snap to "events" and then the WAVs will snap to each other, otherwise if they are cut to fit bars then just set the snapping to bars and move them as desired.
I routinely re-arrange songs in Auria and once you have the snapping set it's quite easy.
There's also the ability to lock selections, and the status bar is useful when you're moving stuff around. I'll see if I can get some screengrabs together to elaborate on that.
Thanks. Okay, just tried setting snap to events, and the result is that lining imported .wav files up is much easier, in conjunction with Fruitbat's advice to select current timeline when importing.
Might be an idea for Rim to add an automatic option for doing this in a future update. Also, the ability, for AP to remember where it was importing from in Dropbox. Having to drill back down ever time is a waste.
Just found another issue. Trying to add Klevvgard Korvpressor as an AU FX, just results in silence. Then attempting to adjust the AU results in Korvpressor's pop up box being entirely blank!
Here's how I would go about doing the import multiple files and lining them up:
Firstly import all the files in one go, by selecting multiple files in the import dialog, and from the track list for each file select the little plus sign to bring each file in to a new track in Auria:
Then set the snapping to "events":
And line them up and then drag them all onto the same track:
Or if the files are one bar loops that match the project tempo, set the snapping to bars and drag them around the timeline easily:
Also one super-useful thing is to keep an eye on the info box when you are moving things in the timeline, it tells you exactly how far things have moved, according to your grid preferences:
Auria is accurate down to the individual sample level, want to shift a wav file by just one sample? No problem:
Probably worth spending a little time checking out the Auria Pro Tips and Tricks thread, which I'm going to update with some of this stuff today:

Great stuff, I'm, forging ahead now. Many thanks @richardyot for taking the time to add the screen grabs. Very useful to me, and I'm sure others who come across the same, easily solved, issue.
My pleasure
Good effort there Captain.
