Sampletank new Orchestral set vs isymphonic fully loaded

At $150.00 The new Sampletank Orchestral set ain't cheap but then again neither is isymphonic fully loaded. Thoughts? What do you guys prefer?

  • It's 49.99 for Miroslav 2 which includes everything underneath it (strings, brass, woodwinds, chromatic, piano). The other prices are if you just want those particular instruments instead of the whole library. I don't have any isymphonic but would pick up Miroslav 2 if it goes on sale.

  • Hmmm.. Thanks

  • i have both and they are also both very good.
Isymphonic is my preference as its also AU.

  • In my opinion, I'm all about the SOUND of the instrument rather than how convenient it may be (AUv3, state saving, etc). I found the original Miroslav to be quite good in quality, Miroslav 2 to be absolutely mindblowing, and iSymphonic to be kinda meh. Some of the patches in iSymphonic are a bit wonky/broken, and the sounds remind me of some of the cheaper soundfonts I have stored on my PC. (Seriously, in Auria Pro, I can just load my soundfonts if I want to "sketch out" something orchestral before doing it proper via Sampletank and Audiobus). I didn't bother finishing out iSymphonic, but I did purchase Orchestral Drums and Cinematic Drums for Sampletank and so many other sets. (Yes, am a Sampletank junkie).

@jwmmakerofmusic I have Miroslav 1, exactly how is Miroslav 2 "mindblowing"? Quality, quantity... other words.

I also have iSymphonic and quite enjoy just the base pack. The additional articulations included in Miroslav make it better in at least that way.

  • @audiblevideo In quality, mate. Miroslav 2 has in my opinion the best sounding orchestral timbres out of anything on the iPad. They're the most natural sounding.

Do you know of any audio examples of the Miroslav 2 iOS sounds? I found some demos from the desktop version but I really need to hear what the iOS version can produce.
