Korg Kaossilator for Android

Comments

  • Super cool.
    Come on devS.
    Ipad rocks end of.
IPhone, got bored and wanted a headphone socket, so went android.
    Wouldn't go back to iPhone.
    So more android apps !!
Oh yeah, brought this and it's great.
I wonder how many people I just upset.
Have apple released their blue tooth head phones yet, for the phone they want you to buy minus the headphone socket, oh yeah, they haven't......

  • I hope Korg release all their apps on Android. It'll be good for the ecosytem.

So much easier dealing with files on Android. I spent hours yesterday trying to do something on my new iPhone which I could do in minutes on my old Android phone from 3 years ago.

Is it working good in cubasis for you? Oops , never mind.

  • Works a treat! LG G5.

  • Does it have link?

  • I heard the latency is better

  • Last time i tried musical apps on my android it was a big crackle and stuttering experience even with 2gb ram and big.Little CPU (8 cores). No thanks.

    When used with Audiobus perhaps?

  • Latency is much better now.
    @Tritonman that's what I pads for.
Hang on a minute, are you telling me you are running cubasis on a phone ???
Are you a beta tester, or are you getting confused, with your blind love for Apple.
@Jumpercollins perhaps link is coming, link works fine on remix live for android.
If, Android gets more good music apps, may do may not, perhaps an over priced iphone handset might not be so great after all.
Don't get me wrong, I own 2 Ipads and the last 4 iphones, just not frightened to break away from the mold.
Unless a phone is your only music station.
Then I guess iPhone is best for you.

Also how many people are enjoying the Latency on bluetooth head phones with intense music apps.
    I certainly aren't........

Must be annoying using an adapter on a shiny new phone. So nice of apple to provide 1.

    Go korg !!!
    Keep it coming !!!

  • @Jumpercollins said:

That is a definite no then.

  • Tell me more about cubasis on your phone please as you referred earlier in your comments.
Link is like x months old. It's all coming.
I like link running into ableton and then using my touchscreen laptop to control ableton.
Maybe there will be a ribbon app eventually for your over priced non touch screen laptop that you are bound to also own.

    Come again?

  • Nick Batt was talking about link and rhis in yesterdays Sonic State Talk. Hecouldnt name it because of NDA but they may be hope for link.

  • Yes cubasis works great on my ipads

  • Thanks for the comment @Jumpercollins .
Fingers crossed as it's nice to own and use different operating systems and not just be blinkered and follow a single path

Latency it's almost flawless on android now a days but it depends on the device, REALLY investigate before purchasing any android phone. Even high end, otherwise you might end up disappointed with an expensive phone full of major audio issues. (Don't just listen to rumors, things are better but be VERY careful)

    It's official... happy 2011 android!!!!!!

I doubt Korg will be releasing anything else until it proves financially successful, or whatever korg goal is, ikaossilator it's the safest app to launch first, the least low latency dependent, the easiest UI, the least expensive. Etc. lots of companies have done this and then stop releasing their other apps for whatever reason (wisdom music), others have gone all in with a major app release but now it's barely advertised and barely updated (retronyms) others are releasing apps but are very secretive and avoid responding when it comes to bug fixing (igrand from ik multimedia for example, it works for me but a lot of the complaints from other users, clearly out of control from the devs as it has to do with android or a specific device are dismissed or barely answered)

  • All I heard was "ikaossilator: not abandoned". Now if we could just get some gosh darn mother falcon sound packs now that android is sorted that'd be great

this.... and is there anything different about the android version, I need an update/upgrade and I need it right now!

  • @kobamoto nothing different I can see, except some minor graphical things. Interesting though in the promo material they talk up the ability to make full songs

  • So this and caustic now the top android music apps? Don't have an android device just curious.

    Nope. It's

    SunVox :)

  • No there is a daw called soundcamp (with thumbjam ,unique and MorphWiz ,WoW, ) fl studio (thanks android for the lost of IAA on iOS ) And Oscilab ,perhaps few others .But for music i must admit that IOS is far far better ...Android apps are too easy to hacked ( just download an apk file ) . I guess dev don't want invest in a non rentable system .

  • Low latency or not, Android is still total hell to develop for and software piracy (and general unwillingness to pay for apps) means there is no money to be made for developers. It's unfortunately a lot more trouble than it's worth.

Never noticed the spoiler feature before! While there's a handy menu item for it under the paragraph icon, I also added it to the examples of how to use Markdown in posts:

    Thanks for pointing it out!

This. As a devotee of open source on the server side of things I had a hard time coming around on the DRMed walled garden approach Apple took, but I think for consumer software it's the only thing that really works right now. Apple have in turn made great effort to make developer's lives easier. I hope for things such as AU this trend continues :)

  • Can't figure out how to import my own loops.... I see import but no way to designate the folder...

  • Unfortunately android piracy is a real problem, I showed all the guys at my work caustic on my iPhone, they loved it, mentioned it was available on android. The next day everyone had pirated it. Sad

I agree but I'm curious, what do you think it's the reason that some big companies and independent developers decide to give android a try?. Assuming they already know about all these things.

  • @Lacm1993 because Korg has money and resources to take a gamble I'm guessing. As for smaller devs, perhaps they simply know the android system better and wanna work with what they know best for now.

    @Lacm1993
    Check out this video:

I have not used Soundcamp because I don't have a compatible device, but it appears to solve latency issues.
