iPad interface options
Hi. So I've researched this a lot and still haven't found a perfect setup. There's a lot of interface options that all seem to have different compromises. I'd like something portable I can use to record into the ipad. Battery powered would be sweet but not a deal breaker. I'd also like to be able to plug in a midi controller (Qunexus) at the same time. Any suggestions?
The zoom U24 meets some of the criteria and is probably of great quality. Also means I have to buy a $40 camera connector. If I have that, could I then use a non-powered USB hub with it and a midi controller?
The iConnect Audio seems nice (for home use also). Not battery powered though. Also don't know how it works with hubs.
The Presonus Audiobox i has solid reviews.
The Behringer iS202 actually looks tight but is built for older iPads and might have quality issues.
Thanks for reading.

Steinberg ur22 mkii is really good for its price and has midi ports, so you can hook any midi controller with midi ports to it(and also send midi) and not require any extra power from hub.
Using non powered hub is kinda hit or miss. Ipad doesent supply a lot of power, so using multiple midi controllers will definitely not work. If that interface uses external power, then it might work with one controller.
IK iRig Pro Duo......Battery power, midi in & out, sounds great, I use it as my live rig for AUM, Kong Module, Sessionband, Auria, haven't had any issues yet, price is good and it's very portable, I just Velcro it to my keyboard.
Sure, it's a bit old tech-wise, but I'm still using my Behringer iS202 with iPad-4, iPad-mini2, and iPhone 6+ (with the 30 pin adapter, of course). I've never tried it, but it can operate on batteries. As to the audio quality: it's okay, but I mostly use it for midi in/out, driving my studio monitors, and occasionally for microphone input. If I was a singer I'd want better, but for me it works great.
There are a lot better options for the price, unless you absolutely require batteries. But even if you need that, you could get a higher quality product and an external battery pack for the price.
I was just thinking about "maybe I can make anything portable with a battery pack." That's true right? Line even the Steinberg previously mentioned?
I think the Focusrite itrack dock is the best. Not battery powered but so good.

Yea, the steinberg can be powered with basic android phone charger(with that micro usb plug), so it could be powered with a battery pack which gives the same amount of power and has micro usb plug.
Absolutely. Just because Velcro™ is the genericised trademark for hook-and-loop fastener doesn't mean you have to pay for actual Velcro™ each time - there's plenty of other cheaper and just as effective hook and loop fasteners available.
