Streaming live from desktop to record into preferred iOS app?

Transferring completed files from desktop to play aloud, edit, record over, in preferred iOS app?

Do you need hardware/cable/WiFi or notation help?

  • Thanks for the replies
I just want to use iPad/phone as midi instrument. I was assuming you didn't need any other additional connection cables or apps.
The IO cable app looks useful :-)

MusicIO and MIDImux just requires your normal charging cable (USB - Lightning).
Thus CCK is NOT needed - in fact AFAIK it will not work.
Both have (slightly more expensive) siblings that will transmit Audio as well:

I use studiomux for sending midi from ableton to ipad and route sound of ipad back to ableton. Works great, but i have heard that with some older ipads(i have air2) there might be some latency and/or drops. Dunno if music io handles older devices better or if the issues with studiomux that some people have with older ipads are just some intall errors or what ever other things.

  • Bought music IO app midi version but just read it is no longer supported on windows PC?
